If you embroider or monogram, you need the scissors
When I first started embroidering, I would literally get cramps in my fingers as I would trim the threads off of my work. My mom being the great gift giver that she is found these wonderful scissors and bought me a pair. They were a real lifesaver. I love them so much when my daughter bought her monogramming machine. I ordered her this pair, I actually ordered the curved and the straight as she is into fringe embroidery. They are a real saver. FYI, they are razor sharp so please take precautions not to leave them near a small child or an adult that is not looking for sharp scissors when they sit down

Great for Seam Ripping
Yes, they make seam rippers and seam rippers are good for most disassembly of sewn products. These scissors are easy to use and fit the hand well. They are easy to guide and can select a single thread to snip if necessary.

Big winner for little price!
I wish I'd bought one of these years ago. Picking up scissors seems like a really simple thing, and I didn't realize how much easier having snips would make my [sewing] life. I couldn't make up my mind when I was shopping for them, so I bought two different brands of snips at the same time, figuring I could keep one in my travel kit. I'm posting photos with both pairs. The other pair was two dollars cheaper, but the Hobby Tools pair is MUCH better, as far as I'm concerned. It's really hard to describe, but the Beadalon snips have an uncomfortable sharp-edged feel to them. Not that the edges ARE sharp, it's just the sensation of it being thin, cheap metal. Like I said, it's really hard to explain! The metal of the Hobby Tools snips isn't much thicker, but they feel much better when you pick them up, and the snipping action is nice and crisp and effective. Both pairs worked fine on cotton and polyester thread-- everyday and upholstery-- and on 6-strand embroidery cotton, but the Hobby Tools pair left a neater edge on the embroidery cotton and felt like the proverbial hot knife through butter. The Hobby Tools pair came in a little vinyl bag and the Beadalon came with a rubbery green sleeve for the tip.The Beadalon pair works fine, too, but they're going in the travel kit, so I won't have to use them as often.

Very nice tool.
I like the sharp, curved blades for snipping threads. This is my 4th one. Easy to hold with Arthritic fingers.

Bought in September 2023
These scissors have already lost their sharp edge and will no longer easily cut any thread. I've used them maybe 25 times since purchase and now they're useless. Guess you get what you pay for. If the Store wants to advise me how to sharpen these I'm all ears. Very disappointed. Loved them initially, love the concept, hate they're already too dull to cut my machine threads.
