Are the lids (lid handles) oven safe?

Yes, according to the description, everything except the removable handles is oven-safe to 500 degrees. I have not cooked with mine in the oven and the lids on, so I cannot vouch for this personally. It is an AWESOME set of cookware! We love ours - I bought a second set for the RV.

Can these be used on a gas grill?

Yes. I use these over propane in my RV, over my coleman stove, and over my propane grill
