Sweater is very cozy, soft
Soft, not itchy (which can be an issue for me). Was very happy when Iopened the package and felt the material. Love the fit! Really nice weight! The quality of the socks is excellent as well but they are a large size. More like a men's size than standard women's. Will be ok for around the house but would likely cause discomfort when hiking due to bunching. As they were a bonus, I am happy with them, just really wish I could wear them hiking as they are a good midweight, soft hiking sock!!!

Solid choice for a quality wool base layer. If you have a longer torso, get the mens version
I like to put wool gear to the test, wearing it for a week straight (washing if need be, at night, and letting it air dry overnight). I'm impressed at week one of wearing top and bottom under clothes. I've been warm, not hot, and although these fit closely, they are not snug. It's felt a bit like having my skin lightly massaged all day. Elbows (and knees in the matching bottoms) do show some stretching with multiple wears. I have both hand washed and machine washed on gentle cycle, tumble dry extra low. I think there will be some pilling in the future, but all in all, this feels like a solid base layer choice for multiple climates.I'm 5'2, 127lbs, medium boned with an athletic build. My husband is 5'8, 135lbs, small boned with an athletic build. The small women's fit me perfectly. The sleeves would come down a bit over my hands except for the weird cord like cuff- it would be exactly perfect with thumb holes. The shirt is close, not tight, and comes down to about mid hip, which is perfect for tucking in. The small men's fit me nearly perfectly - it was a little bit bigger, but not much, the main difference was that the mens version had a longer torso, which comes down over my bum.The mens small was a bit too tight on my husband and the sleeves were too short. The mens version also has soft, full cuffs. The women's version has almost like a cord around the end of the sleeves. Not a deal breaker, but I do find it irritating. Zoom in on the listing pics to see cuffs.Pros:Good qualityDoesn't hold smellsTemperature regulatingVery soft - I've got super sensitive skin and this doesn't itch. The price is excellentConsIf you are tall, I'd suggest going for the mens version. This is perfect on someone short, like me.No thumb holes - I might even take it to a tailor to have thumb holes put in, as the cord makes it a bit uncomfortable to pull down over my hands. The cord like ending to the sleeves is annoying, I considered taking a star off for it, but the price and quality overall are so good that it didn't seem quite fair - more of a 1/2 star.I love that they sent a free pair of merino socks with each order (I ordered multiples for my husband and myself). The socks were much too big for me, but my husband was happy to restock his merino sock collection for free. (I'm a 6.5 - 7 shoe size, they were more appropriate for my husband's 10.5 shoe size)If I could give half stars, this would be 4.5 stars. It's a solid choice for someone transitioning to wool base layers. Honestly, the quality feels better than a lot of Smart Wool layers I've had, and it's softer.

Great quality, super soft and cozy
Very soft, warm, and breathable. It's a perfect layering piece. Great quality, and washes up beautifully. It was initially a little small, but I gently stretched it to the size I wanted while it was wet, and it's exactly the right size now. It resists odors, and I can wear it several times between washes. I turn it inside out and wash it in a lingerie bag on cold, and I haven't had any issues with pilling. I consider this a great value for money. I ordered two more in different colors because this has become my favorite shirt. The teal color runs a little more green in person.

Good stuff!
i got this for a trip and it is really great It fits great not too big but still comfortable. It does a great job of regulating my temp. Of the Merino shirts I have, this one is a good one. The logo on the arm did come off rather quickly which wasn't a bad thing. I didn't need the mountains on it. But I wear this hiking and really like it. It seems to have held up pretty well since I got it.

Comfortable weight (250) & generously sized; may by itchy for very sensitive skin
Ooh, I LOVE my black 250 weight shirt! I am 5’7 and 190 lbs., and XL is a comfortable fit as a casual top.CORRECTION: Size down unless you want a looser fit. I thought that's what I wanted, but it turned out to feel a bit baggy. In other brands I usually wear XL, but for this one I find that L is more satisfactory, even though it is a somewhat tighter fit.Originally purchased as a gift, the recipient found it itchy against her skin. Before returning it, I decided to try it myself—and now I’ve given one as a gift to a relative who also loves hers and just ordered a second one for myself in a different color. Although at first it was very mildly itchy on my upper back, this was never enough to stop me from wearing it for warmth. In fact, I wore it daily for a week or more during cold weather in the North. Now back in the South, I find it a good weight to pair with a down vest for temperatures in the upper 40’s as long as I’m not going to be outside for an extended period. It is also light enough weight to wear during moderate cycling and walking at the gym, and to counter a chill in the house instead of turning the temperature up a degree or two. Simply pushing the sleeves above my elbows adjusts my body temperature if it becomes too warm at temperatures around 70.WASHING: I machine washed on Delicate setting using cold water and Woolite, then laid it over the top rods of a collapsible drying rack. No wrinkles and ready to wear. Dried within 24 hours or less, no doubt helped along by the extremely low humidity in the house.DISADVANTAGE: Being wool it is a magnet for lint, dog and cat hair, and for my own hair. Keep a lint roller handy, especially for a black one, but don’t let this stop you from acquiring one.

Surprisingly high quality!
I have many wool shirts now from brands like Kari Traa, Smartwool, and Woolx, and this one is thicker and softer than all the rest! I used it as one of 2 nightshirts on a 3 week winter trip in Europe and it never developed an odor, while keeping me warm in Copenhagen and the Pyrenees. The fit was good - I'm 5'5" 145lbs 34DDD and the Large fit just right (definitely not tight). The socks that came with the shirt were fine, though my feet were colder in them than in my Point6 or Darn Tough socks. I wear size 9.5 Women's US or 41 European shoes, and these socks fit fine with probably some room to spare.
