Is there a concrete release date for the ftw edition yet?

I think we would all agree that anytime a manufacturer gives you an ETA for a new product, it will usually be just a "little" off and I believe that this is for 1 of 2 reasons (the same thing happens with smart phones). First, it takes time for each company to make their version of the cards (excluding the 1080 FOUNDERS EDITION) & get them out to distribution, laughing all the way to the bank for the people paying twice the cost of MSRP for the 1st version of the GTX 1080 (and who knows, nVidia could be involved with the release of "non-reference" cards by each company since they are only making the FOUNDERS EDITION to my knowledge). Second, they usually will give you a date so that if they are able to release the multiple iterations past the first-born (again, the 1080 FOUNDERS EDITION) EARLIER than that, then they will have a more positive image for the consumer. To answer Brandan's question (and agree with what Waldoe was told), I spoke with EVGA on Wednesday and was given almost the EXACT same information. This is an excerpt from the chat transcript: Q - "Is the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0 or the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 SC GAMING ACX 3.0 even released yet or is the only card the Founders 1080?A - "As of now it is only the FOUNDERS EDITION. We have a estimated ship date of mid-June for our custom cards. However, we do not have a exact date at this time unfortunately." Q - "Do you have a release date for the GTX 1070 FOUNDERS EDITION yet, as I noticed that the price on your website changed today from TBD to $449.99?"A - "Currently we do not have a set date on that. Nvidia is anticipating a June 10th date but we do not have a date for them yet". So I hope that helps to provide a little bit more info than what Waldoe already said. In addition, I must agree with GPU_Tech 100%. DO NOT PAY $0.50 over MSRP for any of these cards. In addition to purchasing the GTX 1080 FOUNDERS EDITION directly from the NVIDIA Store, the 6 companies currently selling their version of the same card are Asus, Zotac, EVGA, Gigabyte, PNY, and MSI. Just like EVGA, they will all have their custom variations (EVGA has 4 excluding the FOUNDERS EDITION). Also keep in-mind that the GTX 1070 is right around the corner with an MSRP of $450, so the same thing will happen with the 1070 that is already underway with the 1080. If I am mistaken about anything said, please correct me (just please don't correct the facts that we already know, what I was told by EVGA on Wednesday, and common sense) and forgive the typos, but it's 4:20am and I've been up since 5:30am yesterday. And with that being said, it's time for some Family Guy time! Giggity Giggity Giggity............GONE!

Is it better than the Titan?

can my 650 watt run this or do i need more i have a i7 6700k 16gb ram and one 2tb hard drive getting an ssd in the future

I'm not sure what buying future things has to do with a video card. But 650 watts is fine. 1 8 pin connector all you need. Its only a 180 watt card.

1080 base model = base clock 1608MHz - boost 1733MHzACX = above w/ two fans, better heatsinkSC = base clock 1708MHz - boost 1847MHz, ACX w/ slightly higher clocks from the factoryFTW DT = base clock 1608MHz - boost 1733, has backplate that stops GPU sagging, binned card. performs better than base model & ACX/SC FTW (non DT) = base clock 1721MHz - boost 1860MHz binned card, won silicon lottery and can handle high clocks out of the gate and can overclock alot better than the previous cards.Classified = base clock 1721MHz - boost 1860MHz, super duper binned card, only the ones with the best performance during factory testing get this designation. meant for hardcore enthusiasts willing to pay a hundred more for a few extra frames via super duper hardcore liquid nitrogen based overclocking
