Item worth the cost and quality
We have a small dog and travel alot. This item is a blessing. There is one thing that concerns me and that the dog can tilt the pen over and escape😂 literally.

The Arena
We got this to contain two orphaned newborn kittens and keep our curious adult cats from bothering them. They have used this pen from ages 0 weeks to… actually they still use it and they’re 3 months old now.As tiny babies this was the perfect “crib” for them. I could fit a heating pad, lots of soft blankets, and a Snuggle Kitty in there with the two babies. I used the zipper opening on the top (the ‘roof’ I guess) to take things in or out so there was never any danger of a kitten crawling or falling out of the nest. The mesh gave them plenty of air and let me see them without sticking my face in the pen, but the nylon material trapped in the warmth from their heating pad so they didn’t get cold. When the kittens got bigger and started walking, the Arena was the perfect size for them to practice without getting lost, hurt, or stuck somewhere weird. They walked (well, wobbled) laps around the hexagon edge, chasing each other, until they got tired and squiggled back to the center to plop down on their blanket and heat pad for a nice nap. My adult cats could watch the kittens through the mesh, but couldn’t get to them to step, sit, or squash them. We also weren’t sure if the kittens had any communicable diseases at the time so this worked well to keep everyone quarantined and safe.A few times I needed to go somewhere and bring the kittens with me. It was super easy to fold up their hexagon, stick it in its carrying case, and get out the door. I expected it to be a nightmare to re-fold but it is actually very easy to do!Now that the kittens are big and strong enough to explore The Big World, we put the hexagon away in the closet to be forgotten forever…. WRONG. We used The Hexagon as a makeshift litter box shelter. The kittens needed teeny tiny litter boxes because of their short little legs, and I needed to keep my adult cats from using the miniature litter boxes (which they always wanted to do despite having multiple FANCY SELF-CLEANING LITTER BOXES for ADULT CATS just right down the HALL). I put the kitten boxes in the hexagon, zipped it all closed except for a small part of the side door, and ta-da! Kittens could easily slip in to do their business but Big Cats could not. This also had the side benefit of containing any litter grains that the kittens tracked out or flung around while learning how to bury their business! Best part - the material is stupid easy to clean. Any ‘accidents’ were easily wiped up with a Clorox wipe or paper towel. The kittens have graduated to Big Cat litter boxes, but they STILL love their hexagon Arena. I leave it set up with the side door open in our living room. At least once a day, the kittens decide they’re Ready To Rumble and enter The Arena to engage in the fiercest wrestling matches you’ve ever seen. They chase, they pounce, they leap off the walls, one time they even dragged a folding chair in there but I put a stop to that like the buzzkill I am. The Arena has taken a few puncture wounds and cuts from kitten claws, but it’s still standing and still popular.Overall… I’d say we got our money’s worth.

A lifesaver - perfect for kittens!
About a month ago, we rescued a stray kitten with a limp (fractured shoulder) from under our car. We hadn't had any pets for a couple of years, so our house had no cat-proofed rooms where we could safely contain him, and his kitten-energy had him wanting to climb/jump despite his injury. I ordered the Large size of this 'playpen,' and it's been an absolute lifesaver. Being big and round, it's a bit awkward in terms of floor space, but it's big enough for his litter box, food/water, bedding, toys, and everything, with enough space in-between to be comfortable, so I don't feel guilty about leaving him in there overnight, or just whenever we can't keep an eye on him. He's got at least a little room to play, and can climb the walls now that his injury is mostly healed, but he pretty much can't jump or fall far enough to risk re-injuring himself. And it's obviously going to be a lifesaver yet again when we get him neutered, if he's ill, or any other time when we might need to restrict his physical activity (anybody that's had cats or kittens, you know how impossible that is!).Even though it's just wire forms, canvas, and mesh, it's holding up really well so far, despite him clawing at the mesh, climbing the walls, and treating the roof like a trampoline when he's not zipped inside, and the zipper's sturdy enough that he hasn't been able to work it open by himself. It was also a lot more wallet-friendly than a metal cage style kennel, and without the worry of him hurting himself on metal bars. The floor and inner side of the canvas walls have a slicker surface than the outside too, so they're easy to wipe clean.I've actually just ordered a Medium size as well, so he can have a safe zone in another room (where the Large one won't fit). I can definitely see us keeping one around as a litter box area when he's older too, because it's great for containing litter mess, and the other could continue to be just a safe bed and food area.
