According to the package label, this product has two different names: (1) FITTED CRIB MATTRESS; (2) Beautyrest KIDS Fitted Crib Mattress Pad. But this product is not in any way a mattress. Also, it is not a mattress pad. I doubt if the product is as much as an eighth of an inch thick. It is more like a sixteenth of an inch thick. The product takes the form of an elastic band, to which is attached a side panel that is eight inches tall. The side panel wraps all of the way around the mattress cover. The side panel is stretchy, and it can stretch to be as much as sixteen inches tall. The mattress cover itself is not elastic. The product feels nice to hands and fingers. It is soft. There are not any prickly fibers. It does not have a plastic feel. Underneath the mattress cover is a plastic sheet. This plastic sheet is not attached to the mattress cover, but instead it is coupled to the top of the side panel. One thing that I cannot understand is that this product is supposed to be for covering a mattress that is meant for infants. However, the side panel has a depth of the type much greater than for an infant's mattress -- instead, the depth of the side panel more in line with the depth of an adult-type mattress. I think if you would explore the various types of mattresses that are meant for cradles, little cribs, and infant's beds, you would NEVER encounter a mattress that is eight inches thick. In my opinion, this product would make a great shower cap or rain cap for somebody with a truly majestic Afro. Now who has a truly majestic Afro? Well, everybody knows that Colin Kaepernick has the most majestic and awesome Afro in the world. Amen!!!THICKNESSES OF MATTRESSES FOR INFANTS. Here is a three-inch thick baby's mattress: Dream On Me 3" Playard Mattress, White. Here is a five-inch baby's mattress: Milliard Crib Mattress and Toddler Bed Mattress. Here is another five-inch baby's mattress: Moonlight Slumber Little Dreamer Dual Sleep Surface Crib Mattress. I was not able to find any eight-inch mattresses for babies. And so, I am not so sure that this BEAUTYREST KIDS FITTED CRIB MATTRESS PAD was correctly designed.

By adult mattress pad standards it's not really that "luxurious", but for crib standards, this is probably the most padded mattress pad I've seen. I see that as a good thing.The elastic is all the way around, which is something I much prefer, and while it's 100% polyester, the finish is quite good, it feels like cotton. That was a pleasant surprise.- Waterproof but doesn't have hardly any of the "crinkle" of a plastic-backed liner- Machine wash warm, gentle, do not bleach. Tumble low, remove promptly. Love this product for protecting my kid’s mattress from getting wet. The pad protects the mattress from getting wet but it is also sold on its padding but the padding is very thin. There isn’t much quality to the padding. I am happy with the quality of the moisture protection rather than the padding on the mattress.The mattress pad very easy to put on and stays in place because it goes on like a fitter rather than a pad on top of the mattress like some other mattress toppers.
