Dimensions Counted Cross Stitch Christmas Sayings Ornament Kit, 6 pcs

I only completed 2 of them so far but they are ADORABLE!

I am wondering if the reviewers who stated that they ran out of thread were using 3 strands intstead of the recommended 2 strands. I made all six and had thread left over. They came out beautiful, I sent them to my son for his kids Christmas tree. I am going to make some more for myself!

I was satisfied with the overall product. Very nice pattern.However, as others have pointed out, this kit was short on thread. There was not even close to enough of the two colors used for half cross stitches to shadow the background (pale peach, pale brown). If you do use this kit, don't even start with their floss for those two colors--just use something close. I also ran short on the dark green and dark brown.In the directions in the kit, it specifically says to contact them if you need more floss. There was a website provided for questions. I used that to contact the manufacturer; here is the reply I got:"We are sorry for the inconvenience. We don’t stock thread separately. If you want to check for the DMC brand equivalent, you could get it in a local store quicker. The conversion list is attached so you can check. Let us know if you need further assistance. Special thread orders takes a number of weeks before we can get it to send out."I went to my local craft store and bought the DMC; The green and the brown did match well enough. I bought extra in some of the reds also cause I was afraid of running out and didn't want to have to make another trip--they are NOT good color matches. You could substitute them if you use it for the whole piece, but not if you have already used some of the provided colors.The amount of aida cloth provided was just enough--if you carefully cut it into 6 equal sections (2 rows of 3 across), it worked out. You will not have much margin on several of the patterns. There is enough felt.Overall, the patterns are ok to read. There are a lot of single stitches and open spaces--I used a magnet strip on a metal board to keep track of where I was. The snowflakes are very challenging to do-- white thread on cream cloth. I would not recommend this as your first counted cross stitch project.

Before I ordered this kit I read all the reviews. Yes, this kit has very cute ornaments. I am now working on my second ornament. However, all the reviews warned the kit was short of thread. I liked the kit so much I ordered anyway figuring they were six individual ornaments so if I had to substitute for a close color, they wouldn't be lined up where anyone would notice.I didn't plan on running out of one color (that is used as a background color) half way through the second ornament. Managed to pull up a conversion chart for DMC thread, but still had trouble finding that color in stock anywhere. Had seen where I just needed to contact the company and they would send whatever thread I needed to finish. Contacted customer support (email only due to the pandemic) and this is the response I got. They sent me a conversion chart to DMC and instructed me to go to my local craft store to purchase what I needed. Wow.If all these reviews mentioned shortages and to contact the company, then they are aware there is a problem and should have resolved it. I have family in a town of 5,000 people and if this happened to them, they would have to drive 30 miles to look for a craft store that carried that color.I was doing Dimension needlecraft projects back in the 70's without any problems. I am very disappointed in their lack of taking care of the customer.Final take on this: Unless you live in a large metropolitan city where you have access to craft stores (that supply all the colors DMC makes) . . . DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT.

As other people noted, this kit skimps on the thread colors needed for the background stitches in all of the ornaments. They sent enough for 2 ornaments! Luckily, I had left-over DMC cotton and was able to come up with something similar. They don't provide DMC numbers so it isn't easy to find the exact match. I am disappointed but I read the previous reviews so I can't say I was surprised. That aside, these ornaments are working up quickly and will be gifted this Christmas!

I love Dimensions products and this didn’t disappoint. The designs are cute and easy to read. They work up really fast as well. Plenty of thread, full color diagrams, totally worth it.

The designs are cute and directions easy to follow.The only problem was that there was insufficient floss to complete all of the designs. I had to purchase 4 additional colors to complete the projects. I have not had this problem with other Dimensions projects I have purchased in the past.

The instructions on this are good and as I just started, it looks like there is enough thread to finish the kit. The pieces are a larger than some other kits so it is easy to work.

Would have given 5 stars if there would have been enough thread. There wasn't enough thread for two colors. Otherwise turned out beautiful and was perfect for Christmas presents for my boys youth leaders!

Good beginner project. Very cute. Fabric glue and quilt batting needs to be purchased seperatly.

Great for Christmas tree and easy to sew, I made some for the church for our Christmas bring and buy sale

I really liked how the various items all matched so well together-like a set.
