The Quorum Windmill Ceiling Fan 197215-86 comes with a 6 Speed Wall Control. There is no optional remote control.

The diameter of the down rod is 1/2 inch. You can only use a 48 inch down rod on the Windmill Model. This item number for the 48 inch down rod is 6-4886.

The shortest downrod is 6 inches which comes with the fan. This put the bottom of the blades at 11.5" from the ceiling and the bottom of the fan at 16.5" from the ceiling Thanks, VCL Lighting
