Q: Will this lens hold up to sand blasting?

Depending on how close You are. I had a direct hit from a small rock shooting out from a landscaper and it didn’t make a mark on the lens. I don’t typically use it around small particles aimed at the lens though

Q: Does this fit over 3M style half face respirators when using the round pancake filters? Is the lens distance from face adjustable?

I don’t believe it would. The mask does tilt up and holds positions securely but from viewing pictures of the mask you describe it appears to me that the sides of the shield may not be wide enough. Without dimensions, I can’t truly answer your question.

Q: with ratcheting... can you make the fit skin tight (right / left / chin)????

I was sent a request by Amazon (?) not sure whom—asking if I can help to answer this question because I bought this. I do not receive any compensation for this answer. I bought this for use in a healthcare setting chin contact depends on how close you rotate this towards your chin. With the ratcheting feature I can make the fit skin tight around the front and back of my scalp enough to induce pain, and extreme tightness. As a tool to block spit or phlegm from a patient it is excellent. However I find myself having to shout at a high volume in order to make most patients hear me. This, I judge it a “fail” for use in a healthcare setting. Hope this helps?
