Excellent
After reading some negative moaning about how this vac starts/stops and is a pain to use… I was sceptical but bought it anyway on the strength of Amazon returnsThe product is excellentI’m glad I ignored the whingersYes… the vac needs to be higher than the water to drain back into It…and my 6000l pond is above ground … easy… stand it on a chairThe start stop cycle to allow drainage is no problem at all… it’s fast and predictableDoes a great job of sucking up the pond muck and has a lot of extrasVery very pleased

Nice.
Does the job well. Could do with the ability to adjust the hose length though

Why did I Bother!!!
Well, looks good. if you want to clean your pond be prepared to wait every 30 seconds for it to empty.it only sucks up till the 30l tank is full then switches off to empty. meanwhile, you freeze with wet hands ready for a burst of 30 seconds of action again - wow! if you want to discharge to a hopper type strainer then you have to stand it on a box for it to drain into as water doesnt flow uphill which is dangerous if it topples over next to a pond. another tip, should you want to try and do some cleaning make sure you do the bottom first and then the shallows as after 2 minutes, as you cant see anything. the most disappointing buy ever. without exception. dismal. epic fail. it is just a wet and dry vacuum. I'lI will now just use it as my shop vac. its just garbage for my pond. good luck if you buy one. if you have a medium sized pond, take a week off to complete it.

Not a bad bit of kit overall.
I used it initially to suck off surface algal scum which it does quite well but you have to keep the nozzle just barely on the surface and sometimes it sucks itself under. I have tried removal of sludge and it does do that as it is designed but blocks up easily if there is any blanket weed. Overall it was a help to get the pond clean again but it took a long time.

Fiddly to use and clogs easily
This works OK for sucking up pure sludge, but get clogged up easliy with leaves and other debris found at the bottom of my pond. Also I didn't anticipate how annoying the delay would be between when the pump sucks water (and debris) from the pond, and then discharges it, before it reverst to sucking water and debris again

The vacuum needs to be higher than the basket and the hose gravity feeds to empty
I have tried it just once but it works very well

Not fit for the purpose
The product looks good. Just not do what you want it to do.The wholes are to big in the net so the duck weed on the surface falls straight back into the pond. The vacuum does not flow so if the wholes where smaller. Even then. It would be an extremely slow process. After trying to put the poor quality bag and net together for a hour.Went back to netting it out buy hand. Don’t bother with it. Very frustrating.
