Is this pachaged nicely enough to give as a gift?

Yes! The stakes come in one box which can be easily gift rapped with no problem.

Will these work with stemless glasses?

If they have rounded bases and are not too big, its probably OK. Probably 31/2" max for stemless and regular. I have some almost 4" diameter that don't fit.

Will the bottle holder accommodate burgundy and other wider bottles?

I gave these as a gift so never used the Mind Reader bottle holder. I bought them because I had been given a "Steady Stakes" set which I assumed are similar. Just checked and a bottle of champagne fits fine in the "Steady Stakes" wine bottle holder.
