The Good Stuff
This is my favorite coffee. I thought coffee was coffee until I tried Blue Mountain. I thought it was just because everything is better on vacation, but it didn't disappoint at home. Made in a french press, it's smooth and doesn't even need cream or sugar (coming from a PSL lover, that's really saying something!) I normally don't drink coffee because it upsets my stomach, but I can drink this freely. I tried Jamaican High Mountain coffee (don't waste your money), and can't wait until I use it up and can buy my Blue Mountain again!!!!

Blue Mountain is the best
I have been drinking Blue Mountain Coffee off and on for the last 5 years, switching it with Kona (I am a true coffee snob...). After the local coffee shop here decided not to carry Blue Mtn anymore- I decided to give this a try- I was not disappointed at all. This coffee is true Blue mountain, tastes as good if not better than the fresh roasted coffee from my local roaster, and gives that extra jolt of caffeine I have come to love from this premium bean.

Excellent coffee.
So why would anyone pay $50.00 per pound of coffee? I dunno. For me, it's a chance to have a morning ritual that makes life a little easier. I vaccuum seal my coffee, place it in a cool, dark place, and treat my coffee like a valuable product. I have a special space on my counter devoted to the tools of coffee- a specialized grinder, a tamp, my stove-top expresso maker, a french press, etc. I use filtered water and I have a few special cups that I dedicate to truly great coffee. My space for coffee is like a little shrine and JBM is like the centerpiece.JBM coffee can be a real scare for your pocketbook. A pound of JBM coffee should give you 32 cups of coffee. That's about $1.55 a cup of coffee. That's about $.40 higher than a cup of Starbucks. If you are in the habit of buying a pound of generic coffee from the grocery store, you are probably having heart palpitations after reading the numbers. I would suggest you split a pound with a few friends and try brewing it in a coffee press instead of a drip machine. Change up your coffee routine a bit. It's fun.Back to the original question- why pay $50 a pound for coffee? In short, it is not an everyday coffee (not in my house anyways) and should be treated as a different catagory of coffee. If you are looking for a cheaper, high quality coffee that can be a step-up from the store-bought coffees, I would look at buy a 100% Kona coffee. It should be about half the price of JBM coffee and is a great daily drinker coffee. That's my ten cents.

Gag Me
I'll say for starters that I am a caffeine junkie. I have been a coffee drinker since I was a very, very young lad. For the past fifteen years I have only purchased whole beans and for the past five years I have used a French press. I've varied my purchases so that I can enjoy different blends and coffees from different continents, coffees that fulfill my morning quest for the perfect cup. I had never tried Jamaica Blue Mountain (having read lots of tales of its great taste and quality production) I wanted to try a small amount before I would shell out close to $40 for a pound of this sought-after bean. I am sure glad I just got a 4oz portion. This is the worst - absolutely bar none (and that includes chow-hall coffee from my military service years) The taste is flatter than flat, the aroma is non-existent - in short it is awful. Thinking I might have somehow done something wrong I brewed another batch in the drip-coffee machine rather than the French press. It was just as blah. Maybe I got a bad batch but for sure I will quickly return to my old faithful Yirgercheffe. As The Who sang "We won't get fooled again!"

Best coffee ever?
Due to my lifestyle and my occupation, I drink more coffee than water. I've tried everything in the stores, and have had mixed experiences. My dad kept going on and on about Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, so I decided to give it a shot. Ordered one bag in January, and it was good enough to warrant me ordering another back this month. Expensive, but you get what you pay for. It isn't bitter, very smooth and clean. Excellent kick, too. I just wish I had enough on-hand to have a pot of it ready every day. DEFINITELY ordering more in the future, of this brand specifically.

Smooth, full-bodied and flavorful!
This particular JBM coffee was much better than expected. Smooth, full-bodied, and most flavorful. It was pleasing to the palate and had a pleasing after-taste.

Wow!
This is without a doubt the smoothest coffee I have ever tasted. I couldn't detect even one hint of bitterness. It is, however, by its nature a very light coffee, so if you are looking for a dark and bold roast for say, espresso, you should look elsewhere, for an Ethiopian or something like it.I ordered it from the marketplace seller Aberdeen, with fulfillment by Amazon. It arrived freshly roasted and vacuum sealed. This is definitely the real deal! Beware of the imitation blends, that while are fine coffees, cannot even approach this level. Costing almost as much, they are quite a rip off! If it's from one of the Jamaica based Estates (i.e. Wallenford, Mavis Bank, etc.) then it's real.
