I bought one of these first and was charging a 17.5 ah battery with it since my original ebike charger failed, no problems. I liked it so much I bought another one to charge my larger 21 ah battery, (my bike has 2 batteries) and when I plug it in it arcs badly. Doesn't matter if I plug in the battery first or the charger into the wall first.These chargers are much smaller than the originals that came with my bike and I thought they would be great space savers in my panniers as I like to go on extended distance trips but I'm afraid they will damage the electronics in my battery because they spark really bad when I plug them into my battery.I quit using them on my larger battery, I still have one original charger that works and I use it since it doesn't arc when plugged in.Disappointed.
