For the past few years I've been on a quest for a truly great pen, and I found it. These pens write beautifully, with a very true black, they are comfortable to hold and I don't find myself with any sore spots after using them in 2 hour exams. They also don't have any repercussions further up my arm, as the ink flows easily and requires hardily any pressure to write beautifully. The ink dries extremely quickly, and even on shiny birthday card I've never had it seriously smudge, and overall I've just never had any problems with these pens. However, they're pretty expensive on a student budget, until I discovered you can buy refill packs! These are the perfect solution, because I don't need to go around buying 2 packs of pens which then run out all too quickly, and I don't need to buy a new pen when it runs out of ink. I'm sure that this has saved me money, and it also means that I always have a refill on hand when a pen runs out, rather than being stuck with some other pen until I can get out to buy more. I definitely recommend this type of pen, and buying them in this form has proved the easiest for me. The only time I've had any issue with one of these pens is that after changing the ink cartridge about 10 or 15 times, the thread on the top part of the pen wears out and no longer resists the pressure from the spring, causing the bottom half of the pen to fly off without warning, but that is to be expected when a pen has been used that much!These are just the best pens I have ever used, I intend to never use any other type of pen from now on.Buy them.

Got recommended these by somebody and after seeing the glowing reviews I thought I'd give it a shot.I bought these for my Lamy Safari, Lamy Al-star and Waterman Hemisphere pens. They do not fit these pens by default as they are larger than the international standard sized cartridge but can be cut down to size.Previously tried Waterman, Lamy, Parker, Pilot G2 and Monteverde cartridges and was absolutely tearing my hair out as about 95% of them were dead on arrival! Possibly old stock from a seller or something, who knows.Anyhow, I bought these on a whim, as time is running short for exams - and they are exactly what I'm looking for. Nice and smooth and enable me to write perfectly in my exams without getting hand cramp or anything similar. The ink does initially run a bit watery and not as dark as you'd expect but after 5 minutes or so of use it starts writing normally.Also a good cartridge for the above pens is the Schmidt 888F but note this is a standard size refill that can't be modified to fit a Pentel pen!Ink is filled pretty well in all of them (closer to the top than the picture suggests). I cannot recommend them enough.

These refills are extreamly useful. I find them a most satisfying tool to write with.

I really like Pentel Energel roller ball pens, they have a rubber finger grip which makes them comfortable to hold when writing and the ink/gel is a bold black. The result is akin to that of an ink fountain pen, far nicer result than any ball point pen.It took me ages to discover I could buy refills for these gel pens, this works out at about half the price - excellent value.The reason for only 4 stars is because the gel doesn’t seem to ‘take’ on shiny paper, I have written birthday cards in the past and the gel just doesn’t dry so I’ve had to wipe the gel off (which just leaves an imprint) and then use a ball point pen. That said these pens/refills are a pleasure to write with and give a lovely bold result.

Am a huge fan of pentel pens - especially the choice of vibrant colours - and love that I can buy packs of refills that I keep handy so I never run out of colourful ink with these ones.

I have a long term tennis elbow injury which combined with a job that requires lots and lots of writing finding a gel pen that is eco friendly, reasonably priced, and glides across the paper seemed a tall order. I know this may sound a bit 'nerdy' but I've tried lots and lots of different gel pens which were no match for Pentel Energel gel pens. The bonus is that this company now do a refill version of the standard pen at a very competitive price thanks to Amazon and I have been using these now for some time. I find the quality of the refills - they don't blob or smudge and the ink flows evenly without resistance across the paper - consistant and the price hard to beat. I also rate the turnaround time, from order to delivery, the lead time is usually stated to be around 3-4 weeks, but I have found they pop through the letterbox very much quicker than that, so well done Amazon! I really recommend this product and the supplier of course.

i re-buy these every month or so because they're the best ink refills i've ever gotten. great flow, ink so they're deeper in colour, but dry fast so you can highlight over without smudging, so also great for lefties.this is a bit picky but there's another seller selling 'pentel energel refills' but when i purchased them they had slightly different packaging, had a different colour and ink flow, so i think they may have been some form of knock-off. these specifically are the best!!
