Great all round. Big clean sound boost.
It brings an old bass cab to life, very clean sound no buzz with a big sound/volume boost. Small and compact, easy to carry with a strong build quality. Spread over a few payments with a good discount it was a very good buy.

Awesome pedal, took a while to arrive and I did pay for express delivery!!! But the pedal is great, easy to use and you can get pretty much any sound you want out of it. Haven't tried it in the studio yet but I use it for all my live gigs, I've set it up for an awesome slap sound but I pretty much just leave it on most of the time coz it sounds great!!!!

Excellent bass pre-amp, though more expensive than others
This is a great pre-amp, with warm tone and parametric EQ. I've not used the DI feature yet, but I'm confident that it will provide a good, noise-free signal. The pedal is well built and has a great many useful functions.

An excellent tone control for passive basses.
I bought this, based upon reviews I had read, to augment a Peavey passive 5 string bass with the aim of getting a more active sound out of it and, to that aim, I have to say it that it does the job well. I'd probably have been expecting rather too much if I thought I could get the tone of my faithful old Aria SB1000; I think that when a circuit is built into a guitar, the signal path is attenuated and reinforced much closer to the source, i.e: the pickups, and that makes a big difference; you're pushing a heftier signal down the cable so the losses are less. Thus, being at the nether end of the cable, it's not going to suddenly transform your passive bass into the "bass-of-doom" of the late, lamented Jaco Pastorius, or sound like that famous Welshman, Pino Palladino, or yet give you the grunt and drive of John Edwards on "I am the Phoenix" - and I suspect he plays Alembic: not cheap. But what it will do is give you a good boost and excellent control over your whole range of tone - and without distortion ! Anything else you need, you'll have to add other gadgets to achieve. So yes, a worthwhile addition to the bassist's armoury.
