HG Tile Protector, Product 14,Satin Glass Finish Shine, Seal & Protection for All Types of Stone Floor Tiles, Flagstones & Slate, Anti Slip Formula - 1 Litre (110100106)

The tiles in my hallway have been the bane of my life since we moved in. They were badly laid over an uneven surface, over time they came loose and broke. I'd had enough of stubbed toes, trips and cut feet so I decided to "restick" the wobbly and broken ones. After several attempts a runny adhesive worked best (working as a floor leveller too). The tiles are quite porous and the dirt stuck firm, during the first "lockdown" I scrapped all the old grout out by hand then regrouted. I spent 3 days on my knees (ouch) scrubbing with a brush and neat floor cleaner (flash worked best and I even tried "brick acid"). Two coats of HG Protective Coating Satin Gloss Finish and WOW I can't believe how good they look. I wish now I'd cut the loose tiles diagonally to sit better on the uneven parts of the floor instead of breaking them to fit. I fitted a carpet runner the length of the hallway. I'm looking forward to next spring as the hallway will be a joy to clean (I hope anyway).Its a great product, easy to use and left a lovely sheen on the tiles.

Works a treat

I have chunky rustic floor tiles with wide dark grout in my kitchen, dining room, hall and utility room, so that's about 70sqm in all. They are extremely difficult to maintain and keep clean and still looked shabby after mopping, steaming, scubbing.I was considering getting quotes for replacement flooring until someone recommended HG floor products.I bought this tile protector and the follow on shine restorer. I followed the instructions carefully to prepare the floor before application and the results are remarkable! My floor is now completely transformed, it is clean and has a beautiful shine. I am very pleased and highly recommend HG floor care products.

Excellent product gives s lovely finish

I tried the HG Tile Protector (Product 14) on my stone floor tiles, but I’m not really seeing the satin glass finish shine as described. The application was easy, but the results were underwhelming. It didn’t give the finish I was hoping for. It might help with protection, but overall, not too impressed.

Ignoring the animals because I couldn’t find a better ‘before’ picture!This stuff is amazing! My slate floor is relatively new (approx 4 months old) and I have scrubbed it 4 times with industrial strength cleaner, homemade white vinegar & bicarb, washing powder etc. It’s been sealed 5 times with another product but still always came back up chalky within a couple of days.This stuff instantly made a massive difference and although it takes 3 days to fully harden, it repelled a spill within minutes of being dry.Easy to apply and is exactly the look I wanted for my slate. I’ve just tiled the back porch in the same & will be putting this on that as well (in 6 weeks as this product does say don’t use over fresh grout).If you’re using on slate I would say make sure the tiles are scrubbed super clean as this will essentially gloss on top of any stains. I missed a bit of residue (thankfully in a non obvious place) which is now a glossy chalky blob!

Not really what I was after, but it brings a slight shine to my fire hearth black tiles..
