Seymour, hear more.
I love Seymour Duncan pickups. I have them in my strat and they are fantastic. But this beast is something else. I bought a cheapo lap steel guitar to upgrade as a project. I wanted a single coil pickup, but one that was "hot". Then I came across the quarter pounder. I must say, its an incredible pickup, especially when you consider its form factor. It plays really smooth clean, but can turn into a snarling, growling beast, with loads of sustain. The most impressive thing for me, is that it has several voices, depending on how much volume your guitar is kicking out, not just full, middle and nearly off. It also reacts very well to the tone pot. All in all, if I was to recommend a pickup for a single pickup guitar, it would be this. Seymour knows his stuff.

Does what it says on the tin
Sounds great, good price and pairs with the other two SDs that I have - another quarter pounder and a JB

Sounds amazing after a bit of twiddling.
Wasn't happy with this at first. I had to wrap some electrical tape around the coil to make it fit into my scratch plate. I was getting a very muddy sound and couldn't figure it out because I had no phasing issues. In the end, I switched the wires anyway, and soldered the black ground wire to the selector switch and the coloured to ground. (known as switching polarity). Once I'd also played around with the height of the pickup, combined with the height of the Wilkinson pickup in the middle, it now sounds terrific and I can see where the other reviews are coming from. This pickup needs to be quite close to the pressed down strings to function properly, in my opinion anyway. Obviously sound/tone is down to the player, but maybe if someone else has any issues, I hope my experience might help them if, like me, they are initially disappointed.I've gone from 2 stars to 4, and that's only due to the fitting issue.

Beefy excellence!
These pickups are beefy. No wonder they are called quarter pounders! Easy to install and great value for money. They have transformed my G3T into a powerhouse guitar.

Great pickup.
Great low end, great sustain. Very nice high output true single coil. Looks will polarise people but I love the look of the big pole pieces.

Awesome little SD pickup! My Ibanez now sounds close to a strat with the feel of of an Ibanez.
The pickup is smaller than the original Ibanez pickup but the sound of the SLL5 blows away the stock ibanez pickup. This middle pickup now enhances the sound when blending with the other humbuckers on my S series. When used on it's own and together with any of the two humbuckers it produces a stratty sound. One thing to note is that I had to invert the wires on the SLL5 for all pickups to work properly.
