Can this be used on cracked nipples?

Yes it can. Many mums use coconut oil as a natural nipple balm whilst nursing. It contains gentle soothing properties thanks to the high levels of lauric acid, a natural healing agent also found in breast milk. Even better, there’s no need to wash it off before nursing as it's 100% pure organic coconut and nothing else!

Does this help or prevent nappy rash?

Not sure about that . We apply this oil regularly and not seen any nappy rash yet. So this might help to prevent it.

Can this be used from birth?

In the first two weeks after birth I was advised not to use anything, but a little water for cleaning baby’s bottom; and not to bath the baby; as their skin is super sensitive and often still naturally protected. But once we started baths we used the oil afterwards. It’s our favourite product!

Is this different to the coconut oil you buy in jars for cooking with.?

The one used for cooking is prepared by drying the coconut in sunlight for days until the white portion of coconut turns to brown colour and pressed to convert to oil.On the other hand virgin coconut is prepared from fresh white portion of coconut converted to oil which is used as moisturiser.
