Q: Does it remember last used brightness? or you have to cycle thru high-med-low every time you use this?

It does not remember your last setting; you have to cycle through to your desired brightness. You should know, however, that there are three modes you can choose. Mode 1) First press = lowest light setting, second press = medium light setting, third press = brightest light setting, 4th press = off Mode 2) First press = brightest light setting, second press = medium light setting, third press = lowest light setting, 4th press = off Mode 3) Same as mode 2 except if you wait a few seconds after selecting your desired brightness, the next button press will turn off the light no matter what brightness setting you're in. I know that's not exactly what you asked for, but I thought it'd be helpful information loosely based on your question.

Q: Which one is made in Germany?

They have a facility in Germany and a facility in China I couldn't tell you which is made where I assume they're both made in both facilities I have had my LED lenser mt10 for over a year I love it it is an awesome flashlight and I had a few LED lenser rechargeable lights before this one they are the best

Mine came equipped with a 5000mAH 3.7V 18.5Wh Rechargeable battery and it is the best flashlight I have ever owned, I recommend it and I would not hesitate to buy another one !!
