I suffer from edema on my right foot and ankle. My doctor recommended Sigvaris, including the type and size of my foot. I wear an 8-1/2 and ordered shoe size G, 15-20 mmHg. There is a chart on the back of the box. I was instructed to wear the stockings first thing in the morning. There is less or zero swelling when I first get up. The less swelling, the easier the fit. The box has directions (with pictures) describing how to place the stockings using the enclosed glove. Once I got used to positioning the glove, I found I no longer needed it. The compression is comfortable and no swelling throughout the day and night. I waited one month before writing this review. I just received a second pair in a different shade (both are open-toe.) I am ordering a third pair, closed-toe in a different shade. I am very happy with my purchases and highly recommend this compression stocking.

Like the brand but need to find a less expensive kind

Easy to put on and comfortable to wear!They are shear and a nice color.They stay in place while wearing.

Nasty edema in one foot/ankle sent me hunting for knee-length open-toed compression stockings. Looked at EVERYTHING available, and kept on running into the name Sigvaris in the comments, as in "Well, they're not as good as Sigvaris" and "These are nice and cheap but I'm used to Sigvaris quality." Hmm. Ordered these -- and now I know what everyone is talking about. I figured it would take a week or two to get used to wearing them, but they were comfortable right out of the package. It's the morning after my first afternoon of use and my bare foot swelling is reduced by easily fifty percent. Don't get PRICE mixed up with COST, friends. These are worth every penny.

Over the years, I have worn various types of compression hosiery and knee highs. I know how to put on and my nails are short. As I pulled up the sock, it tore. Never had this before. Could it be that it was old stock and dried out. Missed the return date b/c I live overseas. So disappointed. Will not ever use this vendor again.

I loved the fit and shade

First time I wore support stockings.....of any kind. Product was comfortable and attractive, as advertised. Best of all, there were instructions and a silky foot covering to wear that made it so easy to put them on. I was impressed and will order more of the same.

I use support stockings daily and decided to try the sheer style for summer. As expected they don't give quite as much support because they are more sheer, but they are more comfortable on the really hot days. These are open toe and I was surprised that the opening was very restricting - very little stretch so it is uncomfortable.
