Will this be compatible with a 12ft summer waves active frame pool?

Yes. It is a very good cover which prevents leaves and any other debris entering the pool overnight. It's a nice tight snug fit over my 12 ft round pool.

What is the real shape? Circular or does it have sides ? (8 i think)

It has 10 sides. Not that obvious visually which I why people seem to be having problems fitting it.
