I bought this digital meat thermometer because I wanted to improve my cooking skills. Ideal to use in bakery or see if meat was cooked to the right temperature so you will be getting an exact point of cooking again and again. I was impressed by how fast and easy this product is to use. It has a large LCD screen that shows the temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit, and it can be switched on or off with a simple button. The probe is long and thin, and it can be inserted into the meat without leaving a big hole. The thermometer gives an instant reading in about 2-3 seconds, and it is very accurate. This is a very large thermometer. The person I bought it for is used to chefs pocket thermometers, but wanted a cheaper option in theory. In reality, I ended up having to buy her the Cooper anyway due to how large this thermometer is. So...trying to save money yet again resulted in wasting money!That said, there's nothing wrong with this item. It does read fast and while it arrived set for centigrade, it was easy to change to farenheit. It comes with instructions. It's fine for the price...but really only the kind of thing you want if you're grilling, or using it in a super deep dish...or temping a huge slab of meat.Ultimately, my fault that I didn't understand what I was buying, or wasn't buying, as it were. So I will keep this for the rare instance that use of this rather than a smaller model would be necessary.

All you need from a food thermometer is a quick and accurate reading every time. There are only a couple of buttons on this device so operating it is very simple. I use it to get the correct temperatures for the meat that I cook and it works great.

Seems to work like it should. Just wish I had one that I could leave it while cooking.

This worked perfectly and to test different temperatures of our tap water. The battery cover snaps in on the top, so when you yank on the bottom part up (that doesn't stay 100% closed - by design and don't get wet) it's not going to break.

This item stopped working almost immediately. I was going to replace the battery but will have to find one to fit. I will see how it works when or if I can find a battery.

Great quality thermometer for the price, works very quickly, easy to maintain and clean. Have had for a few weeks now and have used several times, still in great condition
