i'm not sure - my husband fixed it but something else broke & now we have a new washer . .sorry !!

Q: What’s the best wrench or socket to use because I can’t seem to reach it when I try to tighten

Head size is 5/16 inch. So, these can be tricky, because if you put the agitator and everything in first, your agitator cam may not seat perfectly flush, or the agits may fall out when you try tightening the bolt and you have to start over. The tech trick I often used was to use a very long socket extension on my ratchet. I would first remove the agitator, flip it upside down, and use a ratchet or drill attached to the bolt and assemble it upside down. Then, it's sorta like flipping and omelet. You flip it back over, but hold the agitator with one hand and the ratchet with the other. Lower it slowly until you feel the bolt line up. Now, while still holding up the agitator with one hand, slowly tighten the bolt in place and support the agitator as you drop it into place. There are grooves that will it fall into. Once you have the bolt tightened, check it. Gently rotate it back and forth and push down to make sure it's seated flush. Hope this tip helps. Good luck with your repair.
