Christian Based Valuable Book
This is a very informative book to help you clean up your eating habits, especially if you are looking to cut out sugar and carbs and all processed foods. When I will loose my motivation to continue eating healthier, I will re-read the book. The author took brave approach in adding Bible scriptures and her faith into the book, which I personally enjoyed and will use during my weaker days. Also, the author is realistic that 100 percent clean diet is challenging and shares good tips on how to still embrace life long changes even if eating healthier 80 percent of the time. The approach was very gentle, loving, and caring. I feel motivated and empowered after reading the book and realized some of my healthy foods (fruits) were too high in sugar so I eat them less often now and smaller portions. I hope to reverse some health problems soon.

This is the Real Deal. For those who are Ready to Face Their Truth Only.
Awesome. Amazing. Astounding. The book was so good I read it all in one day. Took general notes of the information. But plan to go back and re-read and re-read and re-read to become a disciplinary in this part of my life. Such real talk. Such real events. I felt as if I was having a conversation with the author. And she already knew exactly where I was and had already been on this path. This has been a personal struggle of mine for well over 10 years. My start date is next week to begin my journey. I pray for my future. But I know if I follow these guidelines I surely will be at the beginning of my lifestyle change. This is not a fad diet. And get skinny quick scheme. This is for those who want to interact and be honest with there selves. Be humble before the Lord and admit that they have an “addiction” thank you for this book Susan. You are the first book that actually hit me at a spot that I can understand and interpret. It gives the whys and how’s. I am anxious to get started but will first spend a week in prayer to reconnect my relationship with the Lord. Who will provide me the strength on my journey. Thank you thank you thank you for this book I hope to update my review in 3 months to give an update on how my journey is progressing. One day at a tome. I step at a time. I’m thankful already for what is in store for me ahead. Something feels different in me when I read this book. Letting me know that something differ t had been sparked within me. I pray for my strength and the strength of all others who are already on, just begun, starting over on this journey. Can’t wait to share my Testimony.

Some Good Information, But…
I was interested in learning how to remove sugar and carbs from my diet and came across this book. There is a lot of good information given, but it’s not really about removing sugar and carbs from your diet, it’s about reducing them. The recipes included still contain a lot of carbs, (in the form of grains, like oats and quinoa, etc) and some still include sugar from honey, agave and dark chocolate. Also, the author uses a lot of biblical references and verses, not even thinking about people who may not share her religious beliefs. I’m not at all criticizing her for being religious, I just don’t think it needs to be included in a book about how to eliminate sugar and carbs from your diet. Overall, I was able to take away some key points from this book, mostly about the negative effects carbs and sugar have on our bodies, and I will look to other books for recipes on how to eliminate them from my diet.

Help for Food Addiction
This book provides a timely antidote to the epidemic of obesity in society. It is written from a Christian worldview think this is very helpful as many Christians deal with food addiction. The book is well referenced guide to healthier eating with a step by step guide and numerous link to additional help materials. There were some interesting facts in the book including an explanation of how gluten levels have increased in wheat. I would have like to see additional justification for some of the books viewpoints for example not eating genetically modified feed. Overall I found the book to be extremely though provoking, the use of language highly evocative and I enjoyed the personal anecdotes provided by the author. I hope this book will be widely read and be more tool to reduce society’s abuse of sugar and junk food calories.

Nutrition and Religion
I was very interested in this book, since it is exactly what I am trying to do…. fewer carbs and more plant foods.I made it to page 4 and stopped reading.I then looked throughout the book, and it is injected with religious quotes and comments.I’m spiritual, not religious, and have no interest in being indoctrinated.I’ve ordered 2 other books that I will read to try and get some information.
