** Overall BEST VALUE ** for a Folding Exercise Bike, a Must Read Before you Buy!!
This review is for the "Black" Version of the Caromix Folding Exercise Bike. Since the time of my purchase, another version is also being offered in the same listing with the color name "Black-Green". Look closely at what you are ordering as they look quite similar, but are very different. Both have the lime green detailing. The Black-Green version seems to be scaled down, offering fewer height positions, only one cycling position (instead of 3), out-of-reach lowered back "armrests", lack of leg resistance bands, and a lighter weight construction with a lower maximum weight restriction. On the plus side, it does seem to have more comfortable pedals (IMO) and a possibly better designed LCD Monitor so your iPad or phone sits ABOVE, and not ON TOP OF your Data Display. These are all of personal preference. I digress...I AM IN LOVE with THIS BIKE!! So, like I said, I got the 'Black" version. I was nervous because several reviewers reported parts missing from the box or parts were damaged. My box came unharmed and all parts inside were present and accounted for. Indeed, the instruction manual is written POORLY but if you take your time and pay attention to the little pictures, you will figure it out using basic common sense. I am a senior woman with physical limitations too many to count, but I managed to put this bike together in a little over an hour. I appreciated the reviews that pointed out how to attach the monitor cables BEFORE finishing the handlebar assembly so the monitor functions correctly. I also appreciated the reminder that the right pedal needs to be tightened CLOCKWISE and the left pedal needs to be tightened COUNTER-CLOCKWISE or you will STRIP THE THREADS. (A sure indication you tightened it the wrong way is you'll see a metal shaving on the inside of the crank arm.) The manufacturer has put most of the nuts and bolts loosely in place where they go and you are provided with all the tools you need. The bike looks amazing in my room (IMHO)! The space I have for it is narrow, but the bike fits in perfectly. The black lets it blend in stylishly, without looking like I transformed my Family Room into a Workout Room. I like the idea that the bike folds up for storage, but honestly I don't think I'll be doing that very often. When folding up however, push up slightly on the rear of the bike while pulling outward on the adjusting pin. The bike will easily recline further or condense to your liking. I find the most upright position the most comfortable. You can easily adjust the seat height and just under the seat there is a knob to adjust the ANGLE of the seat. This is critical to relieve pressure on those lady (or manhood) parts while pedaling. I have the nose of the seat angled slightly downward. Many have criticized that none of the 16 tension options are challenging enough. I find there is a definite difference between the settings and there is no way I could - at this point - pedal using the highest setting. For now 12 is perfect. While pedaling the LCD monitor cycles through the different modes. If you want to track your heart rate just rest your hands on the silver plates. Leave them there for one full rotation of the modes to see your accurate pulse rate by the time it cycles to "Pulse" again. Your distance, time, and calorie count are accumulative until you choose to hold the MODE button down for a few seconds. That resets those specific counters. I reset the system every morning and let the data accumulate again throughout the day. I try to ride for at least 30 minutes each day, but that can be broken up into a couple sessions. The ODO will only reset itself when you replace the batteries. I decided to put in longer lasting Energizer Batteries and I tossed the provided off-brand batteries, to prolong the ODO reset. The attached Resistance Bands are a nice plus. I have used the front bands a few times and I have added the same type of exercise handles to the rear resistance bands to work different arm muscles while riding. Before getting on the bike, I stretch the rear handles up over each side of the back armrests so they are reachable while riding. Using the rear bands for leg extensions is a nice addition, but not sure I'll use them for that. The ride is smooth, and extremely QUIET. Amazingly quiet. I can easily watch TV or listen to music. The cats aren't bothered in the least. The bike is heavy enough not to wobble or move while I'm riding, but lightweight enough to pick up or roll into place. For reference I am 5'4" and weigh about 165 lbs. with unproportionally long legs for my height. So far I'm impressed with how comfortable the bike is for my frame, how absolutely solid it is and it's versatile functionality. The bike had a couple caveats however... Nothing to reduce the 5 Star Rating, but a couple things to note. The seat was not particularly forgiving or comfy. It was hard to find a seat cover the right size. I ended up ordering an "AtivaFit" Seat Cover (for about $18 on Amazon) which fit perfectly, added the koosh I needed and also raises my butt up another 2 inches or so, so that my legs are at the proper extension when I pedal. (I'm already using the highest seat setting) Did I need to invest another $18 to increase my comfort? Of course! But I didn't stop there. I HATED the pedals. They had these attached caged thing and then a strap with a weird buckle. Way too much trouble to slide your foot into. I removed the bolts connecting the cage to the actual pedal to discover I couldn't use the bare pedal either. It was made of this hard plastic with raised hard ridges, only suitable for wearing shoes. I am a barefoot girl! I want to quickly jump on the bike and start burning calories! SO... I ended up replacing the pedals as well for another $20! But sooo worth the investment. They are the MARQUE 9/16" pedal for anyone who wants to do the same... Remember to tighten the right pedal CLOCKWISE and the left pedal COUNTER-CLOCKWISE. On the topic of tightening, I've read a couple of reviews that mention that their bike developed a clunking sound while pedaling after using the bike a handful of times and then updated their review with fewer stars and/or stated their disappointment in the quality. Well guess what? After about 75 miles mine did too... BUT before getting too concerned, I grabbed the original wrench used for assembly and RE-tightened each nut and bolt, (maybe an extra turn?) from the front stabilizing bar and all along the main frame. Maybe 8 or 10 spots total. I started pedaling and NO MORE clunking sounds. Maybe I didn't have everything completely tight to start with? Also worth mentioning, I added the ARC MagSafe phone mount to the handlebars so my phone is always handy. And adding the Minthouz Clip On Fan to the handlebars gives me a nice breeze so I don't get overheated!AND THEN because I am all about convenience, I added a second magnetic phone mount to the back armrest of the bike so that my phone AND Roku Remote are always handy when I'm just sitting on the sofa watching TV!! I have included photos of all my improvements. After customizing my Caromix Folding Exercise Bike, I am thoroughly enjoying it and I have no doubt that it is built to last. Happy Pedaling and hopefully my review has inspired at least one person! :)

I definitely picked the right bike
this was delivered earlier today. Hubby has it all assembled and everything is working perfectly. For those of you who said the last two screws were missing they are in the back panel of the mode block. This is a very sturdy bike and I am going to get a lot of use out of it. This was definitely a goodbye.

Missing an Allen wrench
Currently I’m giving it a 4 star rating as I am only unpacking it. It’s missing the L shaped Allen wrench. I rec’d 2 pins instead of 1 pin and 1 L shaped Allen wrench. I’m hoping I have one lying around here somewhere. I’ll update more later.Update:: was able to find an Allen wrench but it was the wrong size. I was able to use the one side of the other wrench but it didn’t tighten enough. I got to the point where even that wasn’t working so had to search again…found the size I needed and was able to redo all the bolts. My error in putting this together was that I put the bottom bars on the wrong side. So the back is on the front and vise versa meaning the wheels are on the wrong end of the bike.My issue with the bike is I need a stool to get my leg through the other side or I’m constantly banging it into the center piece. The placement for it could’ve been thought out better. Without using a stool my legs are getting banged up and bruised by getting on and off.

2nd set of monitor connection wires...
love this ... I did have a problem with the monitor not working... but once I realized I could reach out to the company through amazon... they responded very quick.... the problem was there were wires/connectors in the bottom pipe near the resistance knob that needed connecting...and wow there was actually a little sticker say as such.... so happy happywith this... everything I expected and needed...
