The mechanism is smooth and feels solid, not cheap or flimsy like some others I’ve used.It’s got a nice weight to it, so it stays in place on my desk, and it can handle a decent stack of papers without struggling. A decent general stapler, but I'm using this in a classroom so I'm not sure how well it's going to hold up when the average kid comes up to use it. It doesn't feel "Solid", for lack of a better term. I suppose staplers are not intended to staple things together while you're holding the stapler in your hand to do the job, you're supposed to put the stapler on a solid flat surface and firmly push down on it, presto, you have a staple couple of pages. But in my experience, and I get that this is totally subjective, when you do staple something in your hands, not on a solid flat surface, a solid stapler staples through the paper just fine - this one doesn't, the staples don't close in on the opposite side, leaving the staple open for snagging on something or allowing the papers to be so stapled to be sufficiently lose that they work themselves apart.This is likely great if you're working at a desk, and need something relatively inexpensive to staple papers together, not the best stapler for the rough and tumble environment of the average high school classroom.

Got this to replace my old worn out metal one. Very light weight, easy to use and small so takes up little space. Glad to have it.

This stapler gets the job done! It’s sturdy, doesn’t jam, and handles up to 25 sheets easily. The non-slip base is a nice touch, and it even comes with staples. Great quality for the price!

I will order this one again. This stapler is perfect. It is cheaply priced, but sturdy, good quality, and is not overly loud or clunky when stapling. There has not been an issue with the staples getting stuck or anything like that either. Very solid stapler that I will order again, for sure!

I misplaced my home office stapler (or the kids borrowed it). It was a Swingline and I fondly remember it as being somewhat smoother operationBut this is a “Basic” product and it does the job, so no need to nitpick
