What size is each square? I'm looking for a snakes and ladders game in which each square in the grid is 6 inches.

No, the squares are 3 inches. I would not have recommended it anyway. The mat, dice and player discs were in a shipping box. No game box of any kind.

Is this good quality?

The playing surface is very good but the dice sucks.
