It is on both sides of the case. This case is very well constructed. Zipper works great. Case is very sturdy and attractive.. You will not be disappointed.

8.8 x 5.2 x 2.1 are the inside dimensions. If you’re trying to figure the size of something to fit inside, I would go with these numbers. Also take in account for rounded corners. There are zipper compartments on both sides of the case, which might change the dimensions for what you are trying to use it for
