I've previously been using a folded over bit of paper to do this alignment task. But it's more difficult to get inside the gap. So I bought the BIRZMAN clam and it's proved so much easier and faster. Have used it for different rotors for my bike as I have two wheelsets, one for gravel one for road. It works every time and is very quick to do. Just loosen the caliper bolts, slide the clam in place, squeeze the lever and tighten the bolts. Job done in seconds, no annoying rotor rub noises. This pack includes three which is good value for money I think over the competition. One for my jersey pocket, one for the toolbox, and a spare for when I lose one of the others!

I had become accustomed to a lengthy trial & error faff in trying to centre disc brake calipers and this brilliant little tool has simplified the process no end. I got a perfect result at my first attempt. Still a bit puzzled why there needs to be three in a packet though.

A clever idea that allows you to get a reasonably good alignment of your disc brakes. The shape isn’t quite right for some Shimano brakes in the fact that you cannot spin the wheel freely when the clam is inserted. Notwithstanding, this is a useful tool and is very easy to use.

Pricey for what it is but does what it's intended for. Makes setting up the caliper much easier and more accurate than just pulling the brake against the rotor without a spacer. Careful when removing from the packet, I managed to slice my finger a little.

After having abit of a difficult caliper fit, these can aid in getting a good alignment, thou these are really only design to fit rear caliper, maybe works better for certain brand but shimano m395 not so much

Does what its supposed to. Comes in a three pack, which actually makes sense. I keep them in my toolbox, saddle bag and commuting bag. YouTube a video for perfect alignment, and you will have 90% less rotor rub.

Super useful to quickly set your discs and have no rubbing. Loosen calipers, slip this onto the disk and rotate the wheel a bit to position the clam so it between the pads and caliper. Squeeze firmly and hold the the lever until you've tightened the bolts. Remove the clam & job done. 2 mins. Much less faffing.

Works well. Maybe prefer a smarter design that avoids having to touch the part during insert/removal, to void oils from hands transferring to brake pads.
