Great product until it isn't
This was bought on behalf of a VI student in an education setting, not bought through Amazon but I'd like to warn potential buyers away.This is a decent electronic magnifier, though for the RRP I'd recommend investing in something more reliable; students reported that the screen flickers on certain settings with some content, usually coloured images converting to high-contrast/greyscale. However, immediately after the warranty expired it stopped working entirely and HumanWare had no interest, offering only full-priced repairs if sent back to them. Others have reported this in reviews above.We're now left with a £900 paperweight. Our team will not buy from HumanWare again.

Wonderful Vision Aid
We purchased this for my 100 year old mom who has vision problems. It is exceptional! First, it is easy to use so the learning curve is short. The 8" screen covers enough 'territory' so that sentences and phrases can be seen at once. The magnification is adjustable so that my mom can chose exactly what is right for her. She can also chose a background/text color combination that is best for her reading comfort.It is expensive, but giving her the ability to read makes it worth the expense.

After 3 months, seek warranty service from the company direct
This product works great. However, it stopped taking a charge after only 6 months of use. I didn't check the warranty info at the time, because when you click the link about warranty, nothing comes up.

Warranty is terrible!
The unit stopped taking a charge after a year and three months. It was still under warranty so we called about getting a replacement and sending the unit back. No replacement offered. They wanted it sent back and said it would take two to three weeks!. This not a toaster! This something someone relies on for work every day. Plus the cost of the unit I would think have a better warranty program. I am glad we did not buy the extended warranty. What a rip off that would be. This is terrible customer service for the type of product it is. It is great when it is working, but customers that depend on this should not have to wait two to three weeks. Management should be fired and someone in the medical field should be running the company who understands the importance of this device.
