Smaller than expected

The splatter screen pan lid is excellent for reducing grease on my stove top. It fits perfectly for the size of pan I got it for. The folding grip on top stays up when I'm cooking and folds flat for storage. Cleanup is easy with a dish brush or in the dishwasher. I'm very happy with it.

There's a flat disk in the center on one side and a disk with a lift-up handle on the other. The latter was loose in the package. The flat disk stayed on with four spot welds. There looked to be two spot welds on the handle side, and those didn't hold. I glued the handle disk (through the screen) to the flat disk using Gorilla epoxy, and it works just fine. Because it is otherwise a good product, I averaged a 1 for the poor weld and the hassle with a 5 for everything else, including price to get a final rating of 3.

Purchased to replace an older splatter guard which had become rusty. The screen mesh is finer than on my old one and while still allowing steam to escape, this helps keep more spaghetti sauce or whatever from splashing out. One very convenient feature is a handle which folds down for easy storage. Fixed upright handles take up a lot of space when stored. And time has demonstrated that these are stainless steel which was a Must Have attribute. So, I like them! They’re good!I bought one this size and another a different size. If they become available, I’d like to also get a couple smaller ones for sauce pots. I encourage the seller to offer a multipack of 3 or 4 in varying sizes.

Who would think a simple thing like a splatter screen could make my day, but this put a smile on my face! It works, it looks great, it can go in the dishwasher, and it doesn’t rust like the dollar stores ones! Plus the handle collapses. What more could a cook want? Go ahead, splurge on yourself!

My wife was always complaining about the grease spatter whenever I fried anything in my large pan.Using the lid causes steam to build up and doesn't allow the food to fry properly.This is just perfect for my large pan.It allows the steam to escape but stops the grease spatter.
