Radius Garden 23311 Root Slayer Perennial Shovel, Red

First off this is an incredibly high quality shovel. I have had some ornamental grass that has grown into a very rocky soil that has been impossible to move, with this shovel I was able to remove about 15 ft of it in about 30 minutes!It's such a pleasure to use that I have been walking around my lawn looking for places to use it hah.I have a lot of small ash trees growing around my property and this shovel makes very quick work of the roots, it's also great for digging up plants like blackberries and other bushes and due to the shape of the shovel it makes it very easy to dig another hole that fits exactly.I am 6'4 and the handle length is perfect, it's incredibly sharp and can even get through Rocky soil and tough roots. If you're already using it to remove dirt around Roots it works great, but if you have a lot of soil to remove I would use another shovel, but it's just wide enough to get the job done.I would highly recommend this to anyone Who does any gardening on a regular basis, it's quickly become my favorite tool!

Very sturdy. Cut through pampas grass when even a hatch wasn’t working. Also worked well at digging up Rose of Sharon seedlings. Well worth the price.

I have dug over 8,000 holes with this shovel in the hobby of Metal Detecting. I'm a senior citizen and my knees are bad, so I can't get down on the ground and dig with a hand trowel. The Radius Root slayer is the perfect compromise.The narrow fork tongued tip is great for digging small divots to pop out shallow targets, but the shovel widens out at the top and the serrated edges really do slay the roots making it possible to dig deep plugs if need be.The shovel is lightweight yet incredibly strong. I have leaned on it very heavily busting targets out from under large roots. I can't break it. Love the ergonomics of the shovel including the round handle. And I have even dug several perennials to help my wife in her garden and of course it is perfectly designed for that and works great.Reasonably priced and highly recommended!

Excellent spade..cuts right through roots when digging!!

This shovel is so multi purpose and easy to use!! It’s perfect for getting deep rooted weeds! This tool is sturdy but also lightweight enough for the average person to carry around and use. I recommend this shovel for daily use

We have tough clay and lots of roots in VA and this thing cut through the soil like BUTTA BABY! I just love it and I am recommending it to all the planting people I know. You will not be disappointed in this high quality tool’s performance. It does not bend when working in rock hard soil. The handle grip is very comfortable. What more can I say other than don’t waste your money elsewhere and buy this one!

I let my yard be overtaken by weeds... again. Instead of paying someone to clean it up this time, I decided to do it myself. Sure, I have other shovels, and other weed tools, but this beast is great for getting those deep roots out. The handle is a nice length, and I like the round handle. It's definitely not the shovel for digging a hole, but it will slay your weed and unwanted sapling roots. My friend Kent (who has no weeds) was looking at it, and his verdict? "Man, that looks SERIOUS!That thing don’t play!" and he is 100% correct, again.

Wow! I cannot believe how well this works! I bought this shovel for my wife to use planting flowers because our ground is very rocky clay and even a small spade was extremely difficult to use. She was immediately so happy with how easy this shovel was to use. After a few days she asked me to help her. I used the shovel and was absolutely amazed at how easy it was to use. This shovel pierced our rocky ground with very little pressure. After several holes I was so impressed I had to write this review. I gave this product 5 stars because 11 wasn’t an option.
