Blue Donuts Bamboo Bread Box with easy to open lid with handle

I can upload pictures later, but this box is decently small. It CANNOT hold two loaves. Fortunately, for some of you, this is a good thing! I did not want a big box as we don't have the most counter space in the condo, but of course it still needed to be able to do the job.The bamboo looks nice as well, but opening the box is a little bit on the annoying side. As you can see in the Amazon pictures, the door is made up of multiple pieces of bamboo. The way they are held together is by a piece of fabric. This works for closing the box without much difficulty, but opening it is, like I said, a little bit on the annoying side.What you can possibly do after buying this: smooth out the channels the pieces of bamboo slide through, with sandpaper. I have not done this myself just yet, but plan to when I get a little more time.Feel free to ask me questions or ask for specific picture angles!

The box itself is very pretty and looks just like the photo. The problem is, the door is definitely NOT easy to open. Some of the slats were glued overlapping each other so they get hung up in the groove track the door is supposed to slide in. I had to sand down the edges of the slats to make it slide more smoothly. The reason I was willing to do that was because it *is* a very pretty box.So why did I give it 4 stars if it doesn't work as advertised?? Because the seller, Blue Donuts, was very quick to respond to my concerns and to try to do all they could to rectify the situation.

I actually purchased this bread box to use as a place to hide all my paper work and mail until I have time to sort through everything! It looks a lot nicer than a junk pile on my countertop!It's actually a fairly good size and can easily fit 2 loaves of bread in it. The lid opens o.k., but it's not a super-smooth ride. And, the slats are held together by fabric that is glued to the back of them.I haven't had any problems with it so far.

It really does look very nice. It fits a couple loaves of bread. Were it not for the DIFFICULT TO OPEN lid, I would give it at least four stars. As it is, I strongly recommend Blue Donuts change its description immediately to DIFFICULT TO OPEN. The lid sticks nearly every time, and I have to stand there and jiggle it open. Sometimes I have to pick up the bread box and bang it a little. Very frustrating. I've been keeping the loaf of bread I need for my daughter's school lunch on top of the bread box so I don't have to deal with it before I've had my coffee in the morning. Would not recommend for purchase; although I am keeping it for now. I may transfer it to my bedroom to store jewelry in to stymie would-be burglars.

Sliding door on breadbox is not made very secure. Pieces of wood separate the more you slide the door up and down with the fabric holding them together showing through the front of the breadbox. Not very sturdy. I had to reinforce the fabric and inside the door with clear special strong Gorilla Tape. Plus, I had to use wax in the grove for sliding the door up and down to get it to work smoothly. Attractive looking on the counter, but very fragile to use!

Not built very well.....was expecting something a little larger....very small for a bread box....have trouble sliding the cover up and down.....not worth what I paid for it that is for sure......would not recommend this product to anyone...very dissatisfied with this product....feel like I got ripped off because of the price and what the bread box actually is

This bread box came quickly and was packed nicely. It wasn't damaged upon arrival. The outer coating is thick and sturdy. By the handle bar the wood is thin so be careful when opening that you don't rip it up fast or it will brake. Overall a good buy.

Great size and configuration for my limited counterspace. Lightweight, nice wood. Construction is a little iffy, as you can easily see the bands of fabric through the slats, but a good product for the price. The fabric isn't particularly ugly or obvious, and I would still buy it again happily.
