I purchased the Best Naturals 5-HTP 50 mg 120 Capsules because I am having a problem with depression. My doctor had tried me on several prescription medications and I wasn't happy with the side effects. I had read that 5-HTP helps with depression. I consulted my doctor (which you should always do!) and told her I wanted to try it. I started on just 50mg a day. After a few days I began to feel better but I felt jittery, so I started taking it every other day. Once I got adjusted to that dose, I increased it to 100mg every other day. That's what I am on now. It's only been a little over a month but I definitely do feel better mentally. I intend to continue taking this supplement with my doctor's supervision. I'm in tune with how I feel and I know if I need to increase my dose, it's not going to cause a lot of side effects. This product is good quality and I am very happy with the results so far. But again, please consult your doctor before trying this supplement and never stop medication without consulting your doctor.

Gas is the worst part. You’ll deflate like a balloon in the morning!If you take 2 it’ll knock you out and you’ll sleep well. 1 is ok.Maybe it improved my mood but the weather got better too so…I dunno.

Well i can say for sure, this brand is definitely POTENT! I tried only half a capsule by opening it and removing half of the powder then swallowing the other half, and BAM within 20 or 30 minutes it felt like i was flying on marijuana or something. My mind began racing a bit. A few hours later this wore off and i leveled out, but i really did not like that...but it was my own mistake for trying it while being on another suppliment, mixing stuff like this is bad news i guess, even at the very low amount i tried.By itself, i think this could be very useful as a anti-depressant. I'll be keeping it in storage as a backup if i ever need to switch.Just beware if you are on anything else, i would recommend letting it fully clear out of your system first before attempting 5htp.Still i have to give 5 stars, for the obvious potency of this brand, very impressed.
