Q: Are these shorts lined?

Hi. No the shorts are not lined but they are lightweight and very comfortable. I would recommend them. And also not too expensive.

Q: do they have a draw string to tighten up around the waist?

Yes they do have a string around the waist band.

Q: How well do they stay up as I have a bit of a tummy?

They stay up well, my friend has big tummy too, but wears them just below and he cant fault them.Hope this helps.

Maybe a XL I went for large with 32-34 waist
