I mean it's Sam Elliott
I know it sounds stupid. The bestie looks pretty rough HOWEVER the great Mr. ELLIOT makes the movie without him it wouldn't have been a 4 most likely a 2. I would recommend and would watch again

I think I know why Sam Elliot accepted this role...
First off, no matter WHAT you think of this movie, it...is...SAM EFFING ELIOT. His acting was superb, in spite of what one might think of the scripting and story; I think no other could have done such fine acting. All else aside, it may very well be that few that are not "up in age" can appreciate the story line of a person looking back upon a long life that have doubts, possibly even regrets, of choices and paths the chose. Destiny? Perhaps. I have a lot to think about this film and, most likely, will have discoveries I did not see upon the first watching. This is definitely NOT a film to watch and NOT delve more deeply into meaning, into the human experience. This is a film of self exploration, of examination of a lifetime of actions and choices and the repercussions of such. Now, throw in the love that can never be, and you have the perfect storm of human tragedy and, in this, the story did portray well. Theater, it is said, is comedy and tragedy. This is, in my opinion, tragedy, but also a story of redemption and preemption of the end of a life that was full... full of pain, questions of morality, of ultimate purpose and of destiny.

Delightful fantasy
As a fan of alternative histories, I liked this film. Well acted, directed, and photographed. A fun trip.

Don't let the title fool you
This movie doesn't have a single goofy, lighthearted or comical scene it. It also has no plot.I can't recommend you own this. I wish I could give it to you. In terms of a movie, this is pointless. If you want to see Hitler and bigfoot get killed, it's worth your time once. One way movie writers (of screenplays) are able to hide the lack of plot is time jumps. This movie is all from present to past back and forth. And there is nothing wrong with time jumps; these movies are certainly entertaining.SPOILER ALERTI really like the scenes of WWII. They aren't overcooked, they are simple, colorful and to the point. The bigfoot climax is ok as well. They do a completely original bigfoot. And it is hideously ugly, not humanoid at all and you feel exactly no sympathy for it. It's not the lumbering, somewhat somewhat dopey with a human-like quality we've grown accustomed to (jerky comms, Harry, etc.).So back to the lack of plot - Sam Elliott is this depressed incessantly weepy tired old man. Slow moving, talking, etc. Young love unfulfilled to never love again. A brother he doesn't know that well either. More of a superficial relationship.Blah blah Sam is assumed dead, his brother buries some of his belongings and then Sam surprises his brother one day when he is out on a small lake fishing and they get to hang out.The only reason this gets 3 stars is the quality of acting, lines, characters. The past-tense Sam Elliott character is played by an actor I am not familiar with. But he owns it.But I can't recommend you own this. I wish I could give it to you. In terms of a movie, this is pointless. If you want to see Hitler and bigfoot get killed, it's worth your time once.

Worth a watch, one watch
An interesting alternate reality where an elite soldier killed Hitler and later in life, is asked to help kill the Bigfoot, who is ravaging the ecosystem and needs to be tracked and eliminated. An interesting tale that highlights the profound impacts on a WW2 soldier post-war and their ability to cope in civilian life in their years after. The movie is fun just for the plot, but is ultimately a bit slow burning and strung out. Sam Elliott always delivers in his acting and desires a nod, but the movie is ultimately a love or hate event. I'm mixed, but one watch was worth it.

Don't let the cheap price or title fool you, this is a suprisingly good movie
I didn't have much expectation when I bought this on impulse. But it is a decent character study movie with enough action to keep it from bogging down. The basic premise is a bit hokey, but it works. It will never win any awards, but it doesn't waste $100 million dollars either. I have watch big budget movies that left me feeling cheated and having wasted part of my life that I would like back. This was just getting to watch a master do a fine job and deliver a solid performance, well paced, nicely shot. Not every movie needs to be over the top super duper ultra whatever.

Better than expected
This was bought as a gag gift so not much was expected. I won’t say it’s a great movie but it was better than expected

Great Actor, the story seems a little weak for Sam's great acting.

Modern cinema at its finest
I can’t describe it. All I know is that I hope this new actor Sam Elliot stars in more films. I think this was his big break!
