The heat shield in the hood of my car was in the end days and I was looking for a replacement, the OEM replacement was about $200, and I decided to buy this instead. I read that one of the features is to serve as a heat shield so I decided to give it a try. My experience could not be better, very pleased with the item, easy installation, great quality, the adhesion to the hood is great, it took me about 10 minutes to install.

This is a great economical solution for light heat insulation and moderate sound deadening. In my case I used it in sections only over a layer of butyl heat and vibration dampening material. This gave me the extra that I wanted in specific areas. It is lightweight easy enough to install. However it doesn't like to conform to the shape of the surface if the angles are but a few degrees. I found cutting and using tape was necessary to get a uniform bend. Also I expected a roll and was delivered sheets. Just as well I was able to work with the sheets once I discovered the difficulty following the contours. I am a little picky but for the money this was in the good value zone. Not for heavy sound dampening or vibration absorption, and moderate temperature insulation. If you seek to achieve more than light duty, then consider this your first choice for a second layer.

Was replacing a door hinge and while i was in there figured this would be nice for ride comfort. Also put the remaining amount in my wheel wells. sticks really well. Even double layered it in the door and it stuck to itself exceptionally. As for the new ride, pretty comparable to my dad’s 98 Grand Marquis and I drive an 06 sebring convertible.

Good product, but...Pic in ad shows a roll. I received a folded panel that was made up of two pieces and held together with packing tape. Not what I expected.

Excellent stuff, you don't need to cover your car in it for it to be effective. A pack of 10 was enough to dampen the sound on the rear panels of my 3dr hatchback. Just keep tapping the metalwork and listen for the desired effect as you apply each piece. I think the 30 tiles pack would have been the perfect amount for me to dampen the whole car.

Product came as tile squares rather than a full sheet as expected. This just made my job 5x harder as now each square needs to be heat molded, adhered, and bumped as tightly as possible to the other tiles, that tiny gap still being sound and thermal penetration. False advertising, would not buy. Extremely pissed. This is the second time purchasing, and the first purchase came as a single rolled sheet (as advertised) rather than tiles. Why they would change the style baffles me but not what I ordered. How do I get my money back?

After putting this on my Mondeo's doors, boot floor and some in the C pillars. The overall noise inside the cabin reduced a fair amount, I can now listen to my radio on the motorway at 5 blips compared to 7 before, and it's made it easier to talk to passengers, especially in the rear seats. Very happy with the results, makes long journeys more pleasant.

I bought a pre-owned crossover vehicle, that had unusually loud road noise coming through the cargo area floor. I ordered this sound barrier material in hopes that lining the cargo floor with it, would significantly reduce (if not eliminate) the road noise. I didn't remove the floor board/carpeting to apply it. Instead I traced the cargo bed liner insert's shape onto the material, and cut it to perfectly fit the space. I just put the piece down as it was (with adhesive covering still on) and then put the cargo bed liner back in over it. It worked out great! I was a little concerned that it wouldn't eliminate as much noise as I'd hoped because it's on the thin side, but it did! I'm so glad I made this purchase and can drive and enjoy a much quieter ride.
