The Beggars' Bible Paperback – Unabridged, January 1, 1974

I ordered this book to add to my curriculum for third and fourth graders in a Christian school in Minnesota. It will be used this coming school year to help them understand how reading changes peoples lives, especially in understanding spiritual truths.Making an adolescent boy the main character, Ms. Vernon creates a story that fascinates the minds of both youngsters and adults. I look forward to seeing my students excitement as they read this book.

We read this as a family read aloud. This was a great introduction to the seeds of the Reformation for children between 9 and 13 years of age.

These books are good for reinforcing history lessons, but they are a far cry from high quality literature like The Bronze Bow or even Big John's Secret. We found this very disappointing because we love both historical fiction and historical nonfiction in this house.We enjoy these books, as they do sprinkle in a lot of historical accuracy, but the accompanying fictional storyline is not very well executed for the audience. The writing style is fitting for a 1st grade reader but the subject matters, plot, etc are more suited for older elementary. It is painfully obvious that the fictional storyline exists solely to talk about the historically accurate information.My 4th grader read these books and it felt very one dimensional. Historical information sometimes felt forced into the plot unnaturally.We will continue using these books, but not as a first line resource.

Great Book. Came in paperback.

The book was required for my 13 year old son for school and it met all expectations. Although it was stated as used, it still looked brand new. I loved the fast service for shipment and delivery.

Great book about God's providence as seen through the eyes of children - the story of John Wycliffe.

The story of John Wycliffe. His movement was the precursor to the Protestant Reformation. Great read for teens.
