Magnum Men's Viper Pro 5 Waterproof Tactical Boot

I have a TON of the Magnum boots. Mostly the full size ones with the laces (no zippers). So, I wanted to finally have the shorter "shoe" type version since I don't need a lot of ankle support anymore wearing them. Figured, I would buy the same boot, only smaller (height). What a mistake.When these boots arrived, I immediately noticed they are cut differently. They are MUCH more narrow at the front almost resembling a ladies boot (my wife has Magnum boots), though they are size 13 just like my full sized boots. Because it's so narrow, it destroys the top of my big toe. I thought it would work itself in, and be comfortable... but after probably 40 hours in these boots (walking, running, etc)... it still destroys my toe and makes it impossible to walk in afterwards. I'm now constantly plagued by a blister that has now scarred over (and over).Yet the full height Magnums fit AMAZINGLY well. If only my old full sized ones weren't so scuffed I would go back to them. But Magnum, you need to fix this nonsense. I'm now moving on to another company until you get this resolved.

I bought these to replace 2yo Danners that I laterally wore out from the soles up. I work outside tromping cross country in rocks and dirt. So far:Pros: Lightweight, excellent fit and good ankle and foot support, didn't need "breaking in", they stay tight on the feet - not needing tightened and retied once on, comfortable with no need for an extra insole, waterproof.Cons: At one month, some side stitching is already coming undone and a shoelace broke both before I ever got the boots wet (the Danner's took 12 mos to show similar wear) Overall, they appear to be wearing out rather quickly.I'm not a letter carrier, nor do I have a work dress uniform, so I may not be the target consumer for this boot for which I'm sure it's suited nicely.

Ok its been 3 weeks since i bought the magnum pro 5 i really wanted to give them a good try before i post. I am a LTL truck driver for a common carrier witch means i have to be climbing up and down constantly from my truck and trailer and working long hours from 10 to 14 hours days i was looking for something lite, comfortable, and overall waterproof. i had own a pair of Danner boots but were i live at they are hard to find so i decided to try and order on line never had done it before.. found these Magnum and ordered and ill do it again!!! the packaging the time frame everything was nice an fast the size as expected fits perfectly i ordered a 9m the only thing that i noticed the it is narrow on front fits snug so if thats something that bothers you get them wide, it took about 2 weeks to fully break in I've worked 13 hours on them and my feet does not hurt like they used too feels like i got sneakers on very durable so far and its rally waterproof already tested and feet were dry in all i love these Boots will by again!

Third day wearing my new vipers. Looking for a new tactical boot is a difficult task. Going for names I know like Bates has led me to more hesitant in my purchases. So far, my Magnum boots are not as disappointing. I like the firm fit and extra padding around my feet. The sole has a satisfying feel to it, supportive and responds well when I walk. The shoe is holding its over all form just fine unlike Bates. Bates boots transform to oven mitts with soles after a month of wear. I'll be happy to follow up since my boots are keeping me happy.

I was in the Infantry in the Army and learned what to look for in sizing up my foot with shoes. These boots fit tight at first but when they are broken in were a perfect fit. I can wear them all day and not worry about how my feet will feel at the end of the day. I also tried out a taller profile boot much like my Army boots at the same time but this boot is my favorite to wear year round. I am a mechanic now and they are perfect for my environment. No slip and make me feel stable even when I am on slippery surfaces.

Love Magnum boots. My feet need ProStep inserts in all my shoes to support my arches. All except my Magnums. Don't know what it is about them but they are always comfortable and my feet never feel sore in them even after a 12 hour day on my feet.

I read many reviews here prior to purchasing this wonderful boots. 8 generally wear a size 9 men's in a regular width. After research, I decided to get a size 10 men's.When I put them on, 5he length was right on, but a little too wide fir my skinny foot. I wear custom orthotics in my shoes, so I inserted them on top of the existing foot bed. Now they have become slugger and fit perfectly.The felt worn in right out of the box. I wear them everyday because all 9f my other shoes have been hurting me. I have plantar fasciitis in both feet. My feet don't hurt in these boots.

Got 9 wide, looks like 9 regular and they are too small and too tight, tried to exchange for 9.5W, but that size is not available, so I had to get a refund and pick different 9.5W boots this time just to be on the safe side. Other than width being tight, they're great boots, if you have narrow feet

Buenas botas, no se ven grandes, son muy cómodas, a excepción de las plantillas que son delgadas y duras, opté por cambiarlas por unas de gel y asunto resuelto. Les pongo cuatro estrellas, por el detalle de las plantillas; y por la lengüeta, ya que en el afán de hacerlas "a prueba de agua", está unida a la bota por unos pedazos de hule. A mi me lastiman un poco en las orillas del empeine, nada grave, pero si es un poco incómodo. Apenas llevo un par de días usándolas, espero que con el tiempo se aflojen un poco, y actualizaré mi reseña.

We bought these for my boyfriend at a great price. They looked good and were sturdy boots. But they took nearly two months to break in. He got bad blisters, his feet cramped and bled, the boots bent at a weird place for the toe, etc. After the couple of months they fit fine and he has no complaints, but consider getting a bigger size to skip the hassle.

Too narrow for a wide fit boot and a little too small for the size I ordered. Sent them back.

The sizing on the Magnum boots has changed. Ipurchased the same size as the ones I currently have and they were small.
