Braun Men's Quartz Three Hand Movement Watch with Analogue Display and Mesh Bracelet

I decided on the Braun watch for its simple but elegant and functional design. It does not look like a watch for a jet fighter pilot, nor like some statement of your personal wealth.Oliver Cromwell would have picked something like this :-)In use it is as you expect very readable, silent (OK, maybe my hearing is not what it used to be). Probably a bit bigger than expected. The build quality is very good and it feels very solid.The only criticism is that it took me some time to figure out how to properly close the clasp, and initially I thought I had damaged the said clasp when taking it off the packaging. Once you understand how to do it it's quite a good and safe design.I assume it's a test of some kind !So overall I am very satisfied with it and recommend it.

It's good to see a watch which doesn't appear to be designed for deep sea divers or astronauts: I love the clear, simple design of this one. It's also more comfortable to wear compared to the metal bracelet of my previous watch. Criticisms? I have two minor ones, but they wouldn't put me off buying one of these.Like others I had trouble adjusting the bracelet. Not so much following the picture in the manual as being reluctant to apply the amount of force necessary to free it. My only other criticism from one with ageing eyesight is that the date dial is hard to read. Larger text would be great. But the readability of the watch is otherwise superb.

I agree completely with <Roadrunner> : the instructions for adjusting the bracelet are unclear to the point of being potentially misleading. I had to phone the suppliers for guidance before I damaged anything. The instructions about opening and closing the clasp are poor as well. For the rest, the watch is handsome.I add the following comment four days after the product's delivery : since receipt of this watch, it has stopped TWICE !!! And I now notice, reading two other customer reviewers, that I am not the only one to have experienced this fault.What IS the matter with Braun these days ?

This a lovely watch and the result of hours of searching. Classy white dial and easy-to-read hands; altogether lovely. But it has to be 3/4 stars for two reasons:1. The date is almost unreadable.2. The strap is lovely but very difficult to put on. Several times it has almost fallen off and getting it spot on is very tricky.I'd buy this watch with a standard strap; it may not be as attractive but at least it won't fall off.

2 UPDATES BELLOW -I purchased the white watch on the 12th of July and was with me within a day or two. Since then it has been amazing. Looks great, I received a lot of compliments on my watch and overall is a great everyday piece.The reason for the 1star is because today after I noticed that it was 2-3 min slow around 2-3pm which since owning it hasn't happened before. Now it's 9pm and the watch stopped working completely around 2 hours ago. I have taken care of the watch and it hasn't been dropped or abused.I would not recommend purchasing this products if this is what happens.Disappointing.UPDATE - After contacting Amazon with the above issue they were quick to apologies and replace the item. I received the second watch within one day. I have always had good customer service from Amazon. Unfortunately the built quality of this watch must be poor overall and not isolated to one faulty product. The replacement received had the bold lines which sit under each hour OUT of place. Have a look at the picture attached. I was astounded that this watch has managed to get to me. I bought it when it was half price, after these events I would NOT recommend anyone to pay the full price of about £93 for this model as it seems to be of poor mechanism and poor quality assurance.UPDATE 2 – Now I wish I was making this up. I received a third watch after returning the second faulty watch pictures above. The third watch again arrived the next day after contacting Amazon. And to my surprise it was not working at all out the sealed box. The watch doesn’t tick and it was not secured in the box (clasp was open) unlike the previous two I had received. Picture of the third watch also attached with the plastic wrap still on it. On the phone with Amazon and requested a refund, also was informed that they will look in to this product as it seems to be of poor quality. Won’t be surprised if it’s removed from the store. Really disappointing I really liked the watch.P.S - According to the amazon representative the watch will be temporary removed until investigation is conducted in to the quality.In the three pictures you can see all three watches before sending them back for a refund.

My brief was:- 1) a watch that had style (but not too much as im'e 60+!)2) Reliability.3) A timepiece that I would not tire of.Being an avid collector of watches over the years, I take a great interest in what goes on in this field, and when I saw this one it seemed to tick all the boxes as they say.The mesh bracelet was a new one on me, but I soon got the hang of it, as well as adjusting the strap to fit my wrist.I had problems with setting the timepiece up so that the second hand exactly coincided with the minute hand, but a few moments spent is well rewarded, to set it up properly.All in all a lovely watch, money well spent, I love it!

Smart enough for any occasion without being too bling - the usual clean, understated styling one would expect from Braun. Strap is adjustable, comfortable to wear and fastens securely. Watch is simple to set and easy to read, and keeps time perfectly. Love it!

A striking and well designed watch. If only it worked, it stopped after two days. Replaced the battery, it stopped after two hours! The clasp was also highly suspect, easily opened accidentally, resulting in the watch falling off the wrist and being lost. Not a good buy. The watch has been reluctantly returned.
