This is the good stuff
Best-Test has been making top-quality rubber cement since I was a kid and as far as I can tell the recipe hasn't changed at all. Same can, same branding, same product, and very satisfactory all around.NOTE there are three "sub-brands" of Best-Test "rubber" cement, this one, the yellow-label, and the "1-Coat" that comes in a red can.* This "Paper Cement" is the good stuff, acid free, whatever, top of the line.* The yellow-label "Rubber Cement" is cheaper and good enough for a lot of uses, like kids arts and crafts or maybe office use, that sort of thing.* The red-label "One Coat" is a different type of adhesive, applied to one side and repositionable, like if you're doing mechanical paste-up, maybe on the back of a paper sofa and table if you're doing room layout. I've never used it, sounds cool, but not the same thing as the Paper Cement.I love this stuff, make sure you have some Bestine thinner on hand if you use it much so you can keep the consistency thin and spreadable, it dries out a little each time you open the can so after awhile you can't spread it without lumps that show through if you don't add a small amount of thinner (N-Heptane) from time to time.

Works like rubber cement, except...
without the bulking up or clumping thickness. Interior of cap has brush.

I'm sure the gluing capabilities is great, but 'pure white' and 'natural white' really means it dries clear. I needed something more opaque for my purposes. It did not wrinkle the paper I tested it on.Edit: I've had this rubber cement for a few months now, and while it isn't white at all, I find myself using it all the time. I especially love that it can be used as a temporary adhesive and as a permanent adhesive (by burnishing the paper). Once I've burnished paper, tissue, or whatever I'm gluing, it does not lift up at all -- it holds very strongly. But a lightly placed item can be easily removed and repositioned. And it doesn't wrinkle anything -- even the sheerest tissue paper glues perfectly flat and smooth. One thing I have noticed is that the glue is not at all stick once dried, and it dries fast. Often, if I'm gluing a large piece, the first area the glue is applied to will be dry and not sticky by the time I'm finished applying it everywhere. For this reason, I sometimes glue half, stick it down and burnish, then lift up the unglued side and apply to the other half. This sounds like a negative, perhaps, but it's mostly a good thing -- you do not have to wait long at all for the glue to dry to the project to be ready for the next step. You can work very quickly with little downtime.

Best Paper Cement around
I use this to mount my paintings to chipboard. It's a fantastic product, especially because it doesn't turn colors and it's easy to remove the excess. I've been using it for years. That said, I must also add that one should use two coats if one wants a very good bond. One coat just doesn't do it, at least not for me and the heavy paper that I use. But when this bonds, it B-O-N-D-S!! I shall continue to purchase this for my mounting needs.

It actually works!
Finally, a product that works the same as when I was a kid!I use this for gluing paper templates to silver while piercing and filing. Put it on BOTH surfaces and let the metal surface dry a little. There's no repositioning, so put it in the right spot, otherwise reapply.Sometimes it comes up on an edge while I'm working, but I just put a little more glue in there, wait for it to dry and it's good to go.I was using super 77 but that's virtually impossible to get off, the rubber cement let's me cut my labor down.

It's The Very Best - Best Test
I have used this product for 35-40 years. Hands down it is the best, most reliable glue for paper to paper craft projects. When I moved to a smaller city I was frantic when I found that it was not available here. Doing a quick internet search I found the closest stores handling Best-Test were 150 miles in opposite directions. I tried the stuff that was sold here with bad results. That's when I went to Amazon looking for it and much to my delight I found that I could buy it there. I'm back to gluing again.
