Instant Star Greatest Hits

The music is good but I like watching the show better than listening to the CD. I have seen every season and still some songs I didn't recognize.

I bought this as a gift for my husband, who enjoys listening to female folk singers. He likes it very much.

I only gave this 4 stars because as much as I like the fact they had the stuff I listed in the title on there...1. Temporary Insanity(Remix)-I liked the remix okay. I prefer the Liar Liar remix.2. Liar Liar(Remix)-Normally not a big fan of remixed songs, it just depends, but I like this for some reason.3. 24 Hours-already have this song on the Songs From Season 1 soundtrack ;)4. Let Me Fall-same as above5. Skin-same as above6. How Strong Do You Think I Am-Songs From Season 2 soundtrack7. There's Us-same as above8. Anyone But You-same as above9. White Lines-same as above10. I Will Be The Flame-pretty cool it's the Jude/Karma battle version. :D11. I Don't Know If I Should Stay-Songs From Season 3 soundtrack12. Unraveling-problem is we've already got Tyler Kyte's version on the Songs From Season 3 soundtrack, and he doesn't even sing it on the show. I love love love this song. It's my favorite from season 3 and I love Alexz singing it. They should of put Alexz's version on this release since they already had Tyler sing on the Songs From Season 3.13. Perfect-I love this song :D Alexz sings it beautifully. I'm happy we got Alexz's version on the Greatest Hits soundtrack.14. I Just Wanted Your Love-wasn't on the Season 4 soundtrack, love the song, Alexz wrote this song and gave it to Instant Star because it didn't fit with the sound of the album she was working on.I mostly bought this because I am a HUGE fan of Instant Star. I wasn't sure if I was going to get this or the Season 4 soundtrack after figuring out the whole Alexz not singing on some of her songs thing was going to continue from the season 3 soundtrack release. I went ahead and did though to flesh out/complete my collection. Hint hint Instant Star people, if you want to make more money off of the Instant Star fans and make them happy release Seasons 3 & 4 on DVD with as a special fan pack and have Alexz's versions of all the songs she sang on the show but didn't on the CDs...huh huh...good idea right?The CD would be:1. The greatest hits album had alot of hype built up about it. And maybe thats whats caused me to be disappointed about the tracks on this. Most of these songs are from seasons 1 and 2. Which those albums had all the songs preformed by Alex, no issue there. But seasons 3 and ESPECIALLY 4 had songs on the album performed by other artists. Everything on the net lead the readers up to believe that alot of the songs on some of the soundtracks that weren't performed by Alexz would be on the greatest hits performed by her. I was really looking forwad to a cd with her singing Ultraviolet. When actually all we got was songs from 1 and 2 and one song from season 4 that didnt make it on the soundtrack for season 4. I know you're not supposed to believe everything you read online, but the put together of this greatest hits album was completely unoriginal. They just threw songs on from 1 and 2 and gave us 2 remixes and 1 song not found on sountrack 4. I'm sadly not going to buy this album, doesn't seem to be worth the money when I already have the 4 sountracks. But I will buy the Mp3 for 2 of the songs. All I can say is that I really hope they release another greatest hits with songs we didnt get from other soundtracks.

The albums from seasons two and three are a great disappointment to me. Due to a rumored argument with the producers, Alexz was only permitted to recored four songs on each album. Sorry producers, those are the only four songs I bought from each album. Next time, let Alexz sing. Now I wait with baited breath for her solo album, which should be released sometime next year. Alexz's vocals are breathtaking, and the power in her voice makes it impossible to turn off a song of hers.First, I am upset that the majority of these songs are from seasons one and two. Yes, they did have the best music, however I think that is because Alexz was the one singing. If she did all the music on the third and fourth albums, they would be just as good. For that reason, I did not re-purchase all the songs I already own. I just filled in my collection with the songs I don't have because I refused to buy the non-Alexz version. It is exciting to see "Perfect" on here. It is entirely upsetting that they do not have Alexz singing "Unraveling," although Tyler Kyte does a good job, or "Ultraviolet." There is no excuse for having Alexz sign "Ultraviolet."Second, the mix of songs on here aren't really all of the "greatest hits." "Could Be You" NEEDS to be on here. It tells the ENTIRE story of Tommy and Jude's relationship in the earlier phases. I don't understand why that wasn't the first track on this album to begin with. Also, where is "2 a.m.?" This song is Jude and Tommy's relationship in the later phases, and it is one of the most notable songs of the series, preceded only by "Skin." And, even if it isn't only Alexz, "Pick Up the Pieces" by Alexz and Boyz Attack needs to be on here. It's BOYZ ATTACK, the whole reason for Tommy's stardom!I'm glad they included "Just Wanted Your Love." It was missed on the fourth album, and so I'm happy they finally released it.All in all, every song on this CD is fabulous, of course. The only complaints really trace back to the third and fourth albums where Alexz didn't sing all of the songs on the record. I think people were really hoping this album would make up for it by releasing those songs with Alexz recording them rather than the other people, but I guess we just have to wait for a Greatest Hits: Part Two album.And if someone from The-N or Instant Star is reading this, I speak for all fans of the show when I say that a reunion episode including a Tommy-and-Jude-live-happily-ever-after-TOGETHER-SANS-JAMIE'S-ANNOYING-INTRUSIONS is necessary. Thank you.
