J.K. Adams 20-Inch-by-14-Inch Maple Wood Carving Board with Spikes

I held on to my old carving board probably for about 20 years too long! Well the wait was worth it I guess. I love both the size and the stability this gives, especially when attacking the holiday turkey. It is a little heavy but that turns out to be a big bonus when putting a large bird on it for sitting and then carving. The depth of the drain troughs is also a big plus. If you put a 18-24 pound bird on there and let it sit for an hour, the troughs will hold all the juice and not over-flow onto the counter. The stability spikes are designed so that they do a good job securing the roast beast, be it the large turkey or a smaller 5lb chicken. The quality of the maple is superb. A great buy that I am very pleased with and highly recommend this carving board. Just make sure your cupboards are tall/deep enough to hold it.

I needed a new cutting board for Thanksgiving. I was tired of the cutting boards I have had in the past. This one solved all my problems. It is sturdy, has spikes to hold the turkey on the board and holds a lot of grease in the grooves. That was the most important issue for me. I was tired of cleaning up grease that ran off the cutting board, I had none to cleanup this year! It was easy to clean and soaked up the cutting board oil very nicely after I cleaned the board. I also applied oil to the board the night before I used it, I’m sure that helped too. Also, the board smells nice, I can tell really good wood was used. This board will last me many years, I’m not giving this one up.

We love that this is made in the US & it is everything as was promised. It was so much easier to carve our Thanksgiving turkey with this board! We looked at several cutting boards & none had the spikes to hold the meat & that was the one feature we wanted. It is definitely worth the money as it is very sturdy & made of quality wood. So glad we purchased this one.

I got this board because I had recently got rid of a no name board that I had had forever that developed a warp. The first board they shipped had a slight warp right out of the package. I kept it for a couple months thinking I could get past the wobble but I found myself avoiding that one and using others because I couldn't stand the warp. I didn't want to be That Guy and return it until a friend told me to either have them make it right or throw it out and call it done. Their customer service was great. The woman guaranteed me that she would personally inspect the board to make sure it had no warp before sending it out. The item was replaced and it was perfect.Great job on a good product. After wrestling for years with random cutting boards where juices spill over and joints skidded off, this is the Cadillac of carving boards! Very sturdy & practical. A board like this needs to be maintained and nurtured with wood block oil. And if you take care of it properly, I’m sure it will last for many years. I store it in the box for spike safety!

Thanksgiving turkey, a huge roast, etc....this is great for that. the studs make it hard to use for anything much smaller. And it's hard to store. but the wood and the construction are top notch

I received this as a Christmas gift, and have had the opportunity to use it a couple of times. It is really well made, and elegant enough that you could serve and carve directly at the table from it, if you choose. The wells for the juices are plenty deep, and the board is large enough for even the largest joints of meat. The spikes are sharp and solid and hold the meat in place while you carve it. The only improvement I could suggest on this would be some kind of cover for the spikes when you are storing it.

This is the BEST cutting board! Ordered it to use for Thanksgiving & all my guests had "cutting board" envy! The spikes were exactly what I'd been looking for to keep the turkey (or any meat) in place while being carved. The "well" the juices drain into is deep, enough so that there was no runoff onto my counters & cleanup was easy. This would make a great gift. It's unfortunately not cheap but like any good tool, it makes the job so much easier.
