G.I. 12v 6w Classic Dynamo with Retro Lights for Bicycle, LED, Yellow

I ran the generator to get AC current for my project. Worked smooth after some hit and trials, there were some hiccups with the wiring and joints as the earth had to be provided from the surface of machine. Just do not hold the piece while experimenting as it would take earth from your body, which can give a mild shock to finger tips. Otherwise it was fine to operate and use. I had ordered the one with lights as there wasn't much difference in price.

If I could give half a star, I would. The kind of plastic used here is so bad that if it is actually fitted on a bicycle it might not even last one ride. Thinner than an egg shell. So disappointing that anybody would feel ok with putting such useless quality out in the market and not think of themselves as cheating. Could not even test because it was so damaged.

The media could not be loaded. Very good light but it damages the tire but okay for emergency purpose thank you for made this amazing thing since I was child my dream a dynamo in my bicycle now Amazon make my dream so thank you Amazon love you Amazon

This is just a chrome painted plastic body. The dynamo is rated for 12 volts and 6 watts. In reality it is hard to even get 6 volts. Forget about LED's. They go kaput fast. I am using a Pilot lamp bulb, which is rated for 12v,5w (Pulsar/Activa pilot bulb). Bulb glows fine, but like said above, with low brightness.Overall, product is just OK for the price. They provide all the fittings in the box. Quality of dynamo is OK. Headlamp and Tail Lamp are chrome painted plastic. Reflector is plastic. Wires are OK.

The product is good for kids use. Has following drawbacks :1. The product should be shipped with bridge rectifier and voltage controller as the generated voltage depends on the speed.2. The lights included are LEDS which easily burn up with higher voltage. I ended up burning the original and spare ones very easily.3. Please connect the front and back light in series else they burn out immediately.4. I used a bridge rectifier and 7803 voltage regulator circuit to limit output to 5v.5. So far I haven't completed single run start to end without encountering some issue.6. The bearings between the shaft and the body is plastic which disintegrates when you drive at high speed, reconsider replacing this with metal bearing in the future.

Firstly it stops intermittently. Secondly the head light is very dim, just acts like a reflector, tail light mildly blinks.If you ride for 300m, post which it gets hot and stops working, then again starts when you restart.Wires are very thin.In early 2000 dynamos sold has good power and were long lasting. It has 2 modes, even the dim bulb was effective in showing the road in the dark and the bulb used to focus well like a bike light. It used to be sold at Rs. 250 for entire set. but these one's are worst. Once it gets warm it stops and then you have to continuously check in your ride if the bulbs are working. Very dangerous on the road to look back or stop to check if the dyanamo magnet coil is moving or rubbing the tyre. Also the coil gets hot
