Not super soft but beautiful upholstery fabric and very durable.
These pillow covers are exactly as described with one exception. They are not super soft like I would expect chenille fabric to be. To me chenille was like my mom’s chenille robe or even chenille house slippers. These are more like a very thin pile chenille upholstery fabric with a shiny underlying thread. Please don’t mistake they are very beautiful and durable and I suppose you could call them soft but they are not super soft and not something that you would necessarily want to lie down on they are more upholstery-like and therefore a true decorative pillow. I would definitely buy them again however and certainly the pillow insert that I used, made in the USA, was perfect for them and that was the best thing that I ever did. They do look very attractive on my sofa. I bought navy blue ones.
