great speakers
these 6x9s sound awesome in my flats boat. i mounted them on the port & starboard sides of the center console, powered them with a JBL MA6002 amp. they really have great bass & amazing volume for such a bare-bones inexpensive setup. less than $200 invested in the whole system. i plug my iPod directly into the amplifier using a 3.5mm to RCA cable. the amplifier's blue remote wire is hooked to a switch on my console so I can turn it on or off to save battery power. i used the speaker wire & mounting screws included with the speakers, & i cut the holes for the speakers using the packaging as a template. the foam thing that the speakers are packaged with worked well to trace the speaker hole to cut out. the screws aren't rusting in a saltwater environment so they're made of quality stainless steel. i spray these hard directly with the hose, no problems. although the picture shows a gray speaker, the speakers are white, otherwise identical to the picture. these speakers are going for $150, but i got them for like $80 here on amazonEDIT:8/25/14these speakers still sound great, the JBL MA6002 amp died, but I have gotten a new marine amp made by Fusion and it's hooked to the Fusion bluetooth adapter (it plugs into ANY amp with red/white RCA cables) further simplifying my boat's system. With my iphone in the lifeproof case & lifeproof lifejacket, my phone now wirelessly controls the music, volume, eq, etc...and I can disconnect my phone allowing anyone else to use their phone for DJ'ing purposesthe only negative about these speakers are the male terminals. they're very thin, & not made of high quality metal. they're quite corroded, and i don't see these speakers lasting much longer. if they fail, i will be replacing them with Infinity 6x9s most likely. had i known they were such frail terminals, i would have coated them with something to protect them like grease or liquid tape...but now it's too late. the wires soldered to these terminals from JBL, are SUPER thin, like 22ga or something. definitely not marine grade design in my opinion, but they have stood the test of time thus far...

sounds great but......
These speakers sound great. High highs and low lows. These are marine speakers and they dont come with gaskets??!! There is really no way to successfully caulk them either because the backside of the speakers dont have flat surfaces. I used adhesive weather stripping from home depot to use as a gasket. Worked great.

Awesome speaker set!
A few disclaimers about the speaker because the site does not list it. The RMS on the speakers are 100 for each speaker so total 200. Alot of people dont know this but the RMS is a much better indicator of what wattage your speaker puts out. Most speakers ads list the max wattage to attract attention, these as listed in the ad are 300 each speaker so 600 total. I have only used them for about an hour so fo far, but i can tell they are great speakers. I powered them with a shark 5800bt amp which puts out 75 rms per channel and 300 watt max per channel . The results are AMAZING. I could not believe how loud these speakers got! When i first listened to them before mounting, they sounded good. But when i actually installed them it was crazy loud. Sounds like I have a sub in the boat! the speakers have standard spade connectors on the back, use soder to get them on but there are connections you can buy if you dont want to soder. Used 16 gage wire. These speakers look great too, real clean look. If you have a fishing boat like me and dont know where to install a cd deck or you just want to get louder sound (RMS per channel on most cd headunits is only 22 per channel so you wont hear the true potential of these speakers without an amp) i would recommend getting an amp that has a built in bluetooth and fm function. I wanted a headset too but i decided against it to save money. Trust me, dont think anyone will be dissappointed with these.Update 04/13/2016. Used these speakers now for several months and i am super happy with the bass and sound. Truly love these speakers have had zero issues!

Great sound if not defective.
I purchased a set of these speakers from Discount Jungle. When they arrived I plugged in each speaker and turned up the music to make sure they worked. One of the speakers was crackling and popping. I called Discount Jungle and they said it was a car electronic so they wouldn't take it back. They also told me that all products are tested by the manufacture so it's not possible my item was defective. I finally told them that's absurd that no company makes products 100% perfect. They finally gave me an RMA, I returned it and ordered another pair from the same seller... Why when I just had a bad experience trying to return them??... 1st I needed them quickly for a boat vacation, 2nd one day shipping, 3rd because they didn't offer an advanced replacement. The second pair arrived, I tested them and they worked fine. Installed them and they sound awesome. Both 6X9's under the rear seats in my boat have great depth. Almost like having a sub in the boat but without the huge battery drain.I can't give these a 5 cause my first pair was defective. The seller was a pane, avoid them if possible "Discount Jungle". But once I had a working pair and installed them, they sounded awesome in the boat.
