Makes an excellent brew
Although imo this is overpriced for what it does, it makes an excellent cup of cold brew. Far better than any of the full immersion cold brew coffee makers

Great accessory for the Aeropress
Getting the drip rate right was an issue, but once that was set it made awesome cold brew.

Difficult to use. Expensive for what it is.
Hard to use with an Aeropress. You are instructed to alter the drip rate to around one per second but there’s no way to know without blasting some industrial strength torch light into the side of your aeropress. Quite expensive and not worth essentially the cost of the aeropress itself.

And now for something a little different...
If you’re interested in cold brew coffee, iced filter coffee or any way of making some icy caffeinated goodness, much like the hot stuff, you’ve probably seen a few models that do it in different ways; the Hario Cold Brew jug in which the coffee sits in the water for half a day in your fridge, pouring hot coffee over ice, the DRIPSTER, the Coldwave...there’s a seemingly endless amount of these devices. I’ve used and own more than a few and if I can tell you one thing it’s that, unlike the hot stuff, the method isn’t necessarily in the device, it’s in the coffee itself. The coffee is of course important to the hot stuff too but there’s a lot that goes into the techniques and timings and accurate weights if you’re into that kind of thing...but among the cold brew devices they all offer a similar product at the end of it.The PuckPuck is a fun device that you stick on the end of your Aeropress (you’ll need one to use this) and allows the cold water and ice to drip through into your coffee over the period of about two to three hours. That’s it. No waiting 12-24 hours like the Hario. It takes a little set up and some fidgeting to get the flow right but you will not find anything that looks as zany or as ‘mad scientist’ as this in your kitchen.Once you’ve added your 400ml of cold water and 100ml of ice, you adjust the drip rate on the PuckPuck so it’s coming through at around 50 drops a minute. Handily they provide an app to help you measure this by tapping every time you see a drop come through to make sure you have the rate right. This only adds to the quirkiness or the whole thing. The coffee, considering you use good stuff but you don’t need the best of the best for cold brew, tastes great and is as good as any other system I’ve used before. It’ll last you a few days or if you’ve got friends over it’ll be perfect to give them something a little different (they probably know you’re a coffee weirdo anyway!).The other advantage of this system is that other devices that do this can be HUGE. The PuckPuck is a tiny device that fits on to the end of your Aeropress which you’ll already have and the water container take up very little room. The downside for me is that, for the price, the container should really be glass but is instead plastic. All the same, it still does the job but with the PuckPuck itself being a thick, albeit nice plastic, it’s a small thing that does make the whole thing seem a little cheaper than it should.Overall I’d recommend you give this a try if you have an Aeropress already and fancy trying cold brew. It’s a relatively inexpensive way to get into it and see if you love it as much you do the hot stuff.

Makes a nice cup of coffee with some practice
So this is a pretty neat device for making cold brew, it's not without its problems though. Firstly, it's really hard to see the dripping inside the Aeropress when setting the flow rate. My Aeropress has pretty dark plastic, so I've found it best to shine a lamp through it to see what's going on inside. That's more of an issue with the Aeropress itself though, so it's hard to blame the PuckPuck for that. The bigger issue however is that I've found the flow rate doesn't stay consistent throughout the brewing process. On a number of occasions I've set the perfect flow rate and returned to check on it after an hour or so, only to find that the drip rate is much slower, or it's stopped flowing altogether. That said, if you're able to keep an eye on it and are happy to make regular adjustments to keep the flow rate consistent, it does make a lovely cup of cold brew.
