Final Warning: Understanding the Trumpet Days of Revelation

An Earthquake Initiates Trumpets, Seals & Thunders of End-Times in Revelation
FOUR STARS for Carl Gallups' book because he's ahead of most modern authors in regard to the timing of the rapture. He cites the apostle Paul: “We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed... at the last trump, for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible.” 1Cor 15:51,52.Gallups sees the trumpets of Jericho “as a 'type' of the seven trumpets of Revelation” where they are also called “plagues” (Rev 9:20), but he doesn't mention the seven trips around Jericho on the 7th day as a type of “the seven last plagues” that also have “the wrath of God,” Rev 15:1.Israel was spared the wrath of the seven last plagues on Egypt that was also a “type,” Exod 8:22,23. Pre-trib rapturists quote Paul's “not appointed us to wrath,” forgetting that when three Hebrews faced the king's wrath for not worshiping the image in Daniel 3. God kept the Hebrews through the furnace and He will do it for us because that image was also “type” of the image in Rev 13:15.When asked about “the end of the world,” Christ said to understand Daniel (Matthew 24:3,15) where death was possible in each of the first six chapters. “Daniel” means God is my judge, and the book of Judges shows the judges were deliverers and our deliverance occurs at “the last trump” as Gallups shows. But it is hazardous to read the newspaper in one hand while searching the book of Revelation in the other. Doing so can make Chernobyl in 1986 seem like a fulfillment of wormwood in Rev 8:11 when it is only a shadow or omen of what's coming in the end-time “day of the Lord” that John unfolds for Revelation, Rev 1:10Believing Chernobyl was the 3rd trumpet could make us wonder if the 1st and 2nd trumpets were WWI & II. But didn't Christ say when you see these things...this generation shall not pass...”? Matt 24:33,34.“In the year 1840 another remarkable fulfillment of prophecy excited widespread interest. Two years before, Josiah Litch, one of the leading ministers preaching the second advent, published an exposition [of the 5th and 6th trumpets] in Revelation 9, predicting the fall of the Ottoman Empire...Allowing the first period, 150 years, to have been exactly fulfilled before Deacozes ascended the throne by permission of the Turks, and that the 391 years, fifteen days, commenced at the close of the first period, it will end on the 11th of August, 1840.” --Josiah Litch, in Signs of the Times, and Expositor of Prophecy, Aug. 1, 1840.“At the very time specified, Turkey, through her ambassadors, accepted the protection of the allied powers of Europe, and thus placed herself under the control of Christian nations. The event exactly fulfilled the prediction. When it became known, multitudes were convinced of the correctness of...Miller” whose views resulted in the Great Disappointment [Google]. Ellen White, The Great Controversy, 334,335, 1884.To the Millerites before 1844, it seemed a “fulfillment of prophecy” rather than an application, but later White wrote, “we have many lessons to learn, and many, many to unlearn” (Counsels to Writers, 37) and she said, “Trumpet after trumpet is to be sounded,” putting them future, SDA Bible Commentary, Vol 7, 982, 1890.As a former Seventh-day Adventist, I find Ellen White insightful on Bible topics, but because of prejudice, I add her church is in apostasy as she saw it, following Israel's history of old. 5Testimonies, 211,217; and 8T 250.Saying Christ died as the Passover lamb at Passover, White wrote, “In like manner the types which relate to the second advent must be fulfilled at the time pointed out in the symbolic service.” Great Controversy, 399This means the trumpets of Revelation 8 and 9 can have fulfillment on the Feast of Trumpets, Lev 23:24. We saw an application of this on October 1, 2008 when the new moon was in the sky as the US Senate ok'd $760 billion to banksters and the stock market crashed for 10 days. Anciently they blew trumpets for 10 days, and that was in a “shemitah [sabbatical] year” which comes every seven. 2008...2015—look out! Before the 7 trumpets*, there's “an earthquake” in Rev 8:5. Before the 7 thunders*, there's an earthquake encoded as a lion's roar in Rev 10:3. “The Lord shall roar...the heavens and earth shall shake,” Joel 3:16. This is about the Lion of Judah, Rev 5:5. An earthquake* also precedes the 7 seals*, encoded again as the lion's roar. When John heard “thunder, one of the four beasts,” a lion's “roar,” Rev 4:7; 6:1. *They're probably concurrent!I think we will see a HUGE earthquake at 1st or 2nd Passover signaled by the solar & lunar eclipse, Joel 2:31: “The sun shall be darkened and the moon turned to blood before the...day of the Lord.” Richard Ruhling

Final Warning - Blessed Hope
You know after 25 years of reading about Bible prophecy I am still thrilled to start a new book and see the subject through another believers eyes. This is the first book I've read by Carl Gallups and there were parts I thought were fantastic and others I felt needed a stronger Biblical foundation. This book covers quite a bit of eschatological territory so I'll start with highlighting a few things I thought are worth further consideration.1. Mr. Gallups makes a great point regarding prophetic presuppositions and the known and unknown effects this has on our world view. He rightfully points out that the religious leaders of Yeshua's day crucified the Messiah and thought they were doing God's work. He goes on to point out the we as believers are in no wise immune from such attitudes about our own beliefs.2. I appreciated Mr. Gallups perspective on the Pre-trib vs. Pre-wrath view of the rapture. This is a subject which I have been seriously considering and it is good to see the subject discussed openly. I especially appreciated his typology of Joshua (the Old Testament Jesus), the trumpets and the rapture. Interestingly in confirmation of Mr. Gallups perspective, I just read a book by James Prasch entitled Harpazo: The Intra-Seal Rapture of the Church and he had a similar take on trumpets of Revelation and the rapture. He noted that Israel and Joshua marched around Jericho 6 times blowing 6 trumpet blasts. It was during this time (between the 6th & 7th trumpet) that Rahab the harlot and her family (Gentiles) escaped the destruction by faith ( a beautiful picture of the rapture). Mr. Gallups also rightly acknowledges the contextual difference between tribulation events and the wrath of God.3. Another highlight of the book was Mr. Gallups discussion of the Exodus and the giving of the law by YHWH Sinai. How this event related to the early church and the day of Pentecost. Though not mentioned in the book but confirming Mr. Gallups point is that the trumpet of Sinai was the first usage of the term Yowbel (Jubilee) in the Biblical record. The next 13 occurrence of the term Jubilee (Yowbel) all refer to 50 year Jubilee celebration as described in Lev. 25. In other words the first Jubilee in the Bible was a Jubilee of days, i.e. YHWH gave the law verbally to Israel 50 days after the Exodus. Keep in mind the trumpets Joshua and Israel used at Jericho were "Yowbel" or Jubilee trumpets. Fascinating stuff!4. I also enjoyed Mr. Gallups' discussion of the Feasts days and their prophetic significance. Always love to see this subject discussed. Now for those parts of the book I find myself in respectful disagreement:1. I did not find Mr. Gallups arguments for a figurative personification of the two witness of Revelation to be very compelling. Interesting but in no way conclusive.2. His historical interpretation of the trumpets of Revelation I believe fell short of a reasonable basis in Biblical fact. Again very interesting but it requires a very non literal view of Biblical interpretation. From my perspective I think a more literal reading of the passages is warranted. On a more positive note in closing, Mr. Gallups' final chapters in the book is what Bible prophecy is all about. He wonderfully summed up our blessed hope in Yeshua and explained the life and death importance of the subject in a compelling way. Very well said Mr. Gallups!

Great book giving much to think about!
A well written book with a view I've never heard of before, and is quite amazing if you open-up and allow what he is saying to register within. It brings much truth with a new and different light for me. As you well know we have been given many different interpretations; and Pre-Mid-Post-trib all speak of Jesus coming for us at some point. So, as far as which version is 'right' .... well for me, I see all three offerings of explaining the rapture and I understand how they came to their conclusions. I personally don't know where we are according to the timeline in Revelation, but as they all seem to agree on, and what I believe, JESUS IS COMING FOR US and it will be SOON. The time is very near and we need to be ready, saved, in His will, doing His work with an expectant, repented heart. If we must be here longer than we would like to, we need to be prepared to do so. Of course God knew this issue of timing would be such as it is, and yet He has allowed it to be this way. I believe He has allowed this difference of opinion to remind us that it's just that, man's opinion, but He is the One with ALL the answers and for us it's really all about FAITH! It's about us NOT looking to man for our answers, but keeping our minds and hearts turned to Him. I so look forward to 'going home'! With that being said, I'm still very thankful to people like Carl Gallup for their many years of Biblical study and sharing with us what he has learned. I also appreciate his courage in coming forward with this information, and using the Bible to find his answers. Great job, well done!
