This is a good book for my grandson to bed

I have to admit that I have not read much about Michael Jordan's path to success. I had discovered this book online and decided to read it to find out more about his path. I love how his mother and sister showcase how Michael wanted to do his best and what he was willing to do in order to get there.The title of the book for me doesn't really tell the story. What does is that hard work, dedication and faith are the ingredients for us all in getting where we want to go. His mother introducing the idea of salt might have been a part of his wanting to push himself to do his part, but it really boils down to he was not willing to give up.Encouraging and something that fans of Jordan or just readers in general will appreciate, this book shows why you have to have courage to pursue your goals if you want to win.

This is an awesome book for your little one(s). The first time I read it to my boys, my 2-year old who can't help but talk throughout story time was quiet the whole way through. My 5-year old, grabbed the book when I had finished, looked me in my eyes and told me he had to put it outside their bedroom so his little brother wouldn't bend/tear the book. Then he insisted we pray before bedtime!Two firsts from my boys, I think it's safe to say they have a new favorite book. Highly recommend this book!

Wonderful story about Michael Jordan and his family. Easy to read and heartfelt as the story explains what may happen if you believe in yourself and are willing to work hard. AND, this book is written by two women who know Michael Jordan very well, his beloved mom and sister. The perspective and interest changes dramatically as I read to children Salt in His Shoes and end the story by pointing out who wrote the book. I have read this story to several groups of children and it does not surprise me when I am requested to read it a second time immediately after the first time. The illustrations compliment the words. The facial expressions, hand, and leg muscles, body movement, and much detail all add to the story.A great read with a great message.

The story is little known and very inspiring.

Such a great book!We got it for our three year old son who loves basketball and is really into watching space jam. He always wants to be Michael Jordan when he’s shooting on his little tykes net.Not only does he want to read this book all the time, but he now better understands patience, practice, and how eating all your meals (veggies) will make you grow bigger and stronger.All in all a win I’d say!10/10 would recommend. This book is for kids a bit older than our son I believe, but he loves it since he’s really into MJ!

Inspirational story, that just resonates so much with kids, stunning illustrations, this was a great buy ! Highly recommend.

Son un gran admirador de Michael Jordan, y esta historia muestra lo perseverante que era MJ y nos muestra una pequeña historia de como empezó a jugar con la complicidad de su Madre y pequeño empujón de la inocencia que tenemos de niños. Las ilustraciones no son lo mejor que he visto, pero aún así me gustó mucho.

I read this book to my class (age 7) to compliment a lesson I was doing about resilience. The boys and girls cheered at the end of the story. I think they enjoyed it!
