Simple enough to fit
Pre wired box. So just drill a hole through the wall and fit. RCD plug is as easy as a normal plug. N = BLUE. E = YELLOW GREEN L=BROWN you will need a long thin phillips head screwdriver to fit the RCD plug. 13mm drill bit is large enough to get wire through.

Great deal for the money
Great deal for the money, (apart from 3 days delivery for Amazon Prime order ) Just the job to safely add outside power sockets to just over 3kw, can be screwed direct to wall surface or use fixing brackets in photo ( which can easily be taken off with 4 internal screws )

I like the light next to the switches which lets you know the is power coming through, my older one had no light so you did not know if it was on or off. I drilled a hole into the utility room and plugged it in there and filled the hole around the wire (photo). Handy for power hosing, outside drilling, etc.

Versetile product for DIY buffs.
Looking forward to installing this in my shed. Well made product. A lot cheaper than a certain Tool store. It requires you to complete one of the connections yourself. So you do need to know your wiring. I am sure 99% of people do.These RCD plug arrangements are decent alternative to having a permanent power supply installed by an Electrician. That would cost a fortune. I did check with my local Council and was told "the rules have changed. "Homeowners can do a little more than they used to be able to" but they didnt tell me exactly what. So make sure you use the RCD and not the ring main. You will probably need to drill through your external wall. Avoid electric wires. Use metal detector to check. Seal any holes.

Easy to install but catches are realy stiff.
It was fairly easy to wire in. I drilled a hole through the wall of the house from the patio. Drill slightly up wards to avoid the possibility of rain water entering the house. I then pushed a 15mm piece of plastic piping, the type used in push fit plumbing, through the hole to act as a conduit. The RCD plug isn't wired on so you can push the cable through the hole easily. Once you position the socket box you can wire the plug on, just like wiring a normal plug. The cable from the box comes out of the bottom of the box. You may want to squirt some silicone into the conduit once everything is screwed on and the cable pulled all the way through the wall. All good. One thing though, and the reason why it's not 5 star. The catches that are used to close the box and make it water tight, are really really stiff. I've used other boxes that are much better how they close and open. If you're going to be plugging things in and out of the sockets alot then I would look elsewhere.

Genius.
I'm not clued up on electrics and don't claim to be either, but when it comes to outdoor electricity it scares me.We used to have a staked socket many moons ago, but that didn't last when we got a Labrador puppy. This comes complete with wall fixing kit and is already wired up to the socket. If you're drilling through and external wall you should just rewire the RCD unit and then you have yourself an outside, safe, electric socket to hook anything up to.We use ours for our hot tub, electric heaters and water features.Brilliant piece of kit for a brilliant price.

Simple to fit.
Actually amazed at how easy it was to fit. I purchased this to put an external socket on my garage for a hot tub. It comes with the cable already wired into the socket and the plug is separate. I drilled an 8mm hole through the wall, mounted it with two screws on the wall, passed the wires through the wall then connected the plug, so simple. Only minor complaint would be the clips are very stiff but I'm hoping they will loosen with time. Five stars all the way.

Very Good, but some reservations.
Easy to fit - the tricky bit is pre-wired, looks good, works well and generally well-designed.Except!! The grey clips that hold the flap closed and sealed broke after another; leaving the unit not watertight.I have seen any number of this model with the same issue, I don't see any way to repair the unit. Time for a replacement - of a different sort! The rubber washers (1/2 washers??) that seal the cable exit are necessarily a snug fit, but they do not cope with any but the slimmest of cables. More pliable seals are needed, or possibly a few seals of differing sizes could be included with the unit.
